The roller cam bearing has measurably less rotating friction (by a simple torque wrench test) and when inevitably the engine sits for a couple weeks or so a cold start up is less likely to scuff the bearings when you have a fairly big cam with aggressive lobes and the required seat pressure springs. My engine is more on an endurance build and the guys I work with who mostly build BBC trophy truck motors thought it was a good idea for Drag Week deal which is what my build is mostly for that and road course days and general street driving with 10-20 drag strip weekends thrown in. Not a dedicated racer by any stretch of the imagination.
Thanks for your reply.

2 lifters look like this with 1500 miles on them we are changing brands. We have lost Crowers before with 2300 miles on them also. Caught these just in time.

Any feedback from ISKY why this happened ?

I dont think he will bother as we are not going to go back with them. We did not have this issue with other lifters. I am not blaming the lifter it may just be a mis match of materials used. But we wont take the chance when your 800 miles from your car trailer, you just cant chance it.

Does anyone have experience with the "New" Crane Cams? I've no issue with two consecutive sets of the Ultra-Pros in my Drag Week style BBF, but I'm coming into season three and another DW in September and I'd like the assurance of new parts. If the new cranes are just as good as they were then getting another set simplifies the replacement process as likely won't have to replace all the pushrods due to different push rod heights between other brands. Otherwise I guess its the Jesels. The Crane's are now over $700 at Summit, likely more at the shop I'll buy them through. I will pay a bit more for the advice and experience that backs it up.

I just got a call from my engine builder and looks like one of my ISKY Redzones is bad along with damaging my cam. Good Read. Mine see's no street time, but turns 8500rpms. Any suggestions?

I think it means you have valve train sability problems to deal with and the lifter is where it showed up

Why would it show up in only one lifter? I was running 7/16 Stud rockers and just switched to a set of shafts. I am thinking of sending these back to be rebuilt, but not too sure after reading this. Was also thinking about doing the upgrade, but once again not after this.

The car showed no issues, maybe I caught it before major problems. It went 9.79@137 last time out.

What lifters are best for street use if these don't hold up? Hippo's, morel's, or jessels

I use the Crower Hypo's we are going to try Jesels in this engine this time, remember no matter what anyone tells you none are made for the street, the camshaft and spring play a huge part of this and a spintron running your set up would be money well spent but you still better keep after it!
