pay attention to EVERYTHING. pay attention to the last yellow on the tree while the car is moving and make your assesment from there.

Staging is the number one most important thing you can do bracket racing, it can alter the run the delay etc.

Practice.

Take your practice tree and give yourself a 1.5 second or so spot. After you let go of the button estimate(in your head) what Light you cut. After some practice you will be able to "feel" what a .00 light feels like or when you miss it and are >.040.

Also don't sit there and do 100+ hits at the practice tree. Never do more than 20 hits at the tree without taking a break.

Get a practice tree and hit it until you can tell if it is a good light BEFORE it shows what number you really hit. This will help translate what you hit in the car. You start to subconsciously "know"/feel when you hit the tree hard. This will train your mind to know what your body did, before seeing the results on the track/timeslip.

If I'm driving past the tree, and it's turning green, my opponent is in serious trouble. When your late, you just know it...

As soon as I release the transbrake I look to the bottom yellow bulb and wait for it to come on, at the same time I'm listening at the engine on the 2-step. If I hear the 2-step cut off and feel the car start to move while the bottom yellow is coming on, and I see the green come on. Thats a .00 or low .01 everytime. You can judge the light pretty good this way. There has been many times where the car starts moving and I know it feels early and I think it's going red, but then you see the green come on, you know you nailed it.

Never used a practice tree. I prefer the real thing and you get the seat time to boot! Plus you can play with your staging position to fine tune your RT which you can't do with a practice tree.

You can do it with a practice tree, It's called roll-out!! you can adjust it to your liking!!!

No, I don't have or need a Matty Box and Yes you would be surprised at how many Red Lights I get in the other lane. Reputation has a lot to do with what happens on the track.

A guy who is on his game changes his routine because of who he has to run is most likely screwed.

Go race 1/8 mile, then when you go back to 1/4 mile you will think this is easy because you have so much more time to figure out what is going on.

By the way I love to run guys who are holding. Its fun to watch them brake out.

If you are holding numbers and run me and I have a throttle stop set to dump 200 ft before the stripe and come back full throttle just before the stripe what are you going to do?

Can you react fast enough to get back around?
