You better get you a raised cam block if you want to make 900 hp and forget the little m I have a Dart Iron Eagle for sale raised cam keyway lifter bushings and a 55mm cam tunnel if intrested for a good price!!!

And yes you will have to have a small base circle cam if you dont have a raised cam block.

You can use a stroker rod for 800, but 900 HP is not going to just be bolted together, there is a lot of difference to a 800 HP and 900 in a SBC

We just built a 421 using an SHP block with the callies compstar rods and we used a 1.000 base circle and I could have used a 2.000 rod pin and used a standard base circle cam.

For the 800-900 HP Sbc motor you better of using the taller deck block! As for the camshaft for that king of HP if n/a you better of with roller cam bearings and small base 4/7 swap camshaft... You still have to check all your clearances rod to block, rod to camshaft.... At that kind of HP level everything is a custom deal! Just build a Sbf you won't have those issues lol! Just kidding!

55mm roller or 60mm base cam core, 1.000" lift on the intake side mid .800s on exh, Lots of rocker ratio, the biggest lifters and pushrods you can get just to start. I would do the 9" deck Dart I.E. block with the cam raised .440" I think this is the Arrora(spelling???) cam height. Crank 3.750" arm dont need that super light weight though but a nice one with 2.00" pins. Custom pistons, thin rings and on and on.

The CFE head is a great place to start. I think Butch Kemp had a nice setup for sale with intake also.

800 can be achieved with just a small base circle cam and a standard block, hell.......that can even be done with a 23 degree head.

Getting to 900 like others have said is a whole 'nother ball game.
