This post has nothing to do with Indy.

By the looks of it, my car will be parked for a while. So seeing as I am an hour and a half from ORP and I miss doing the tech thing, I would love to help out with getting a rules package together and helping out any way I can...

The real question is whether ORP wants to put people in the stands.

Pro Tree Index racing is great for support classes, but will not attract spectators IMO.

If they want spectators then I suggest taking a good look at Milan's Friday Night Heads Up program. I don't think anyone else puts more people in the stands in the Midwest outside of National and Divisional races.

The keys to Milan's program in my opinion:

Friday Night - leaves the rest of the weekend free for other activities
Women and Children Free
Fast, Exciting classes RWYB(ProMod), 10.5 Outlaw, Outlaw D/R, All Motor, and a Street Bike Class.

Because he keeps confusing the issue by posting what "the rules" are. If he's explaining how they do it somewhere ELSE - then say so. Just read the posts - he's already confused everyone and they're all off-topic as to what is/might go on AT INDY.

Problem I see with using Milans format strictly, is that ORP is a bit too far south. Not saying they wont be looked at, just not the main one..

If you wanted to do something different with the line up you might consider

Open Wheel vs Doorslammers - RWYB, eight car ladder for dragsters, FC, altereds and eight car ladder for doorslammers. Winner of each tree runs for the big money at the end of the night.

Limited Street - Similar to ODR, but attracts more cars because there are more open suspension rules

TT5 - Limited Power adder class on 28x10.5 or 275 D/R.

With most all the 275 on the east coast and down south using john sears 275x rules to makes sure no one has to change there car for place to place i think it will be a good thing to use there rules . So there is already a bunch of cars set up for the class already and not a bunch of fighting overs rules

Wasn't really suggesting they copy Milan's rules and format exactly. Just to look at the keys that make Milan's program work. It could definitely be done with variations on the classes and rules.

Having more open rules will let it draw on more cars from the area. Include Open Wheel cars instead of just ProMod doorslammers, L/S instead of D/R.

Other option for a "starter" heads up program is Norwalk's format prior to 2010.

ProMod/RWYB - 8 Car 1/8th mile.

Outlaw Gold/Outlaw Silver - top 8 cars in Gold, next 8 qualified cars run in Silver ladder for smaller purse. Was open to basically any door car on a 10.5W or smaller tire. I think it helped get more entries because the slower guys weren't necessarily first round fodder.

Run Heads-Up Index as support class to keep cars going down the track.

I assumed from this statement everyone would understand my intent, didnt mean to confuse anyone. I was posting our rules proposal as an example, dont understand those being so pissy when I was trying to help.
