Default Throwdown in T-Town ....Tulsa's racing getting even better

This race has ballooned into a monster of an event
33 promods , 20 mountain motor'd prostocks
there's outlaw 10.5's and lots of true ten5 cars.
If you are within a couple of hour drive this is turning
into a killer event.
Alton holstead must have got confused being so close to the
airport watching those planes take off and tried to do the same
sending his car straight into the air at the hit all four tires off the
ground and seemed to still be accelerating upward.
Mike bell pops a motor 400 feet out and still ran a 3.98
Eddie rogers breaks a blower snout on the first pass but Alton
loans him his and then Eddie goes #1 qualifier with a 3.8 .
The prostocks were running 1/4 mile with almost all of them
in the 6.30's @ 215-220 mph , awesome.
This was only friday night qualifing. The track really is prepared well
and corrected air was about 1100 feet i think and the weather is great.
BTW , Mike Bell thanxs for the use of the welder so i could patch Keith's header back together.

The track was stupid tight, everyone was having issues to even get on the tire! Most everyone was fallen off the tire at 1.2. When they would use the torque tool it would pull between 350 and 450. YEP did an awesome job, and they need to pay the fire fighter on the 4 wheeler more money. His name should be johnny on the spot.

We went down to spectate Saturday. I'd drive by a dozen "nhra national events" on the way to one of Tulsa's fast door car races.
Only problem was that the free tickets drew a big crowd of bikers, nascar fans and just typical trash. Like us, I guess.

Whats the best reading you have seen on the torque tool? Seen alot of shake out there. I was hoping to see a 60 pass out of Gaylen, but maybe next time. BTW, that procharger vette is a beast. Sounds like you need to tame her down a little bit!

Awesome couple days of racing. Definately highlighted by the Top Fuel dragster pass. Wow. Ive been to NHRA drags in Topeka but its a total different world when your standing in the VIP next to concrete barrier in the opposing lane. Took me back a step. I can still hear the ringing in my ears.
