Default News about World Ford Challenge...**EVERYONE READ**

I had recived a few calls and e-mails with people had heard that WFC was no longer going to be ran...

Well that is partically correct...It will NOT be World Ford Challenge....It Will be open to all makes of cars...I got this from George G. and he said it was OK to tell everyone...

It is between 4 places as of right now...Memphis, Atlanta, St. Louis or Chicago...

It outta be interesting to see the purses and size of the event!!!!

you can't compare WFC to Orlando.... First off, no one has the advertising capabilities of George Gonzalez or the money that his races offer.
Orlando has the prestige of longevity and bragging rights, but I don't think it will take too long for George to surpass that.

World Race Challenge sounds like a nice name to me.

Can say the same thing about FFW, PSCA, NMCA, ORSCA.... NONE get the turnout for cars or spectators like Orlando

I think it failed this year because the change of venue and the fact that it is a one race deal for Ford's only that doesn't offer contingency.

And the timing. WFC was always in the middle of a race season, so NMCA and NMRA racers don't want to risk their stuff when they are in a chase for the championship... I heard that from several racers that didn't go.

Jimmy..How do you figure it wasnt a success?

17 Pro cars....

And 9 Outlaw 10.5 MUSTANGS...It may only be 9...but it is a ford race and ORCA was having a race so you lost the southern boys..

We had 46 W/S cars...

I would agree it wasnt the "Most" successfull WFC...But I think it did well ...

I bet 100.00 it did better than any FFW weekend race of '07...But I dont see you calling their races failures

The track mgr. said that the stands were the most packed (Excluding US Nationals) they had seen

Well I have heard that he has been offering to sell it with no takers and this year numbers were down....... please don't take it as a trash job.... just talk among other race promoters say it was down this year..... I'm in a contract with FFW and don't pay attention to other Ford events....... as to FFW you guys think its all about the fast cars.... sorry there bubs but they don't pay the freight...... FFW caters to bracket racers and carshow participants..... thats what keep the series going..... Norwalk last year had well over 1000 bracket racers .... 150+ True Street..... do the math Don't get me wrong I love heads up stuff...... however there is a new heads up race series starting every week ..... Way to many venues and a huge lack of fans to pay the frieght........ I get a kick out of all the "newbee's" that don't have a clue how to run a race and they send EMails/Letters to companies thinking they are gonna send a blank check......

I know there was over 300? bracket cars, not to mention the other "bracket" classes.

I liked it at Indy. The only reason I never went before was becuase of the far drive. Always wanted to go and knew people that wanted to go but no one would drive that far for it. Sad to see it go after only attending the last one. I would have to say put it at Norwalk. Joliet already has the superbowl. Not really any major street car races at norwalk. I bet it will end up back in st. louis. Might not be a bad thing.
