why does a stock suspension car need a weight break anyways? they are just as quick (or faster) in the sixty as anything else out there, you guys are lucky to have a series at a local track with the classes you have. DON'T ruin it! quit whining and start racing.

If the stock suspension is just ast quick to the 60 with a weight break... would that mean the weight break is correct??? Shit at 3150 i could run a 40's in the heat with a PONTIAC at 525". A BBC with conventional heads could run in the teens at the same weight at 600". Why aren't they??? For the people that need to take off their shoes and socks... 600" + 1300hp = 3150, 440" + 1100hp = 2950lbs. I'll take the 200hp for 200lbs Alex.

So the answer is that he was not fully optimized in the combination. Now of course, I'm going to take crap for saying that but... the ET speaks for itself. It's not slam on Mag, only a comparison to your combination. He did not use all the power he had under the hood which I think was more of a Chassis issue than anything.

Butch your effort engine, 40+ cid larger with a SBX, SB2, or whatever head, won't pick you up SIGNIFICANTLY?
I want to apologize for this post. I think I was typing faster than I was thinking. It did not come out right what I was thinking and in no way do I mean to put down Darrins efforts, I know he worked very hard on his program.

That's what I get for getting wrapped up in this BS... I'm done discussing it.

O.k., how about a "roll Call" for the August race? Really, who will be showing up with this new development? That, and only that will be the determining factor.

I will be there.

Not a conventional head small block. I do not see a small block really winning a race this year with out a major dose of luck. But, because of "issues" at the other sanction I was running I will now be running the Milan Heads Up events. I can take my beating there and be home Friday night and mowing grass Saturday morning. I will work towards my 2011 program. I hope this class exists next year, because there will be some screaming, I guarantee it..........

damn this sounds like the boston tea party
by the way butch they gave you a 75 lbs weight break just like me
deduct
50 wheelie bars
25 stock susp.
not trying to start any thing, but all there doing is trying to do is close the gap in the class and make it for the average racer to come out and run with the pack
not go there and be 1 to 1/2 sec behind everyone

This politically correct world we live in makes it ok to just change things to make it easier, racing has become kind of a miniature version of our government and it's short comings.

Alan & Van's cars are not optimized and are the lead dogs in this class. Nothing has been done to slow them down. They will remain fast(est?) and with intimate knowledge, I am confident they will be even faster.

I become a casualty of the keep Butch in check rule, even though I am willing to work hard, collect parts and try and catch & pass him. You know, the old fashioned way.

By allowing the unconventional head BBC a huge 150 lbs weight break you now have the beginning of the end. Now there is an attractive loop hole rule that some one will exploit and perform well with. Then it will have to be adjusted. And not with out casualties and racer fall out. You can make all of the rules you want to help out racers, there will always be someone to take that help and beat the racer it was intended for and the rest of the class with it.

True words, this is a serious blow to the class. The precedent has been set, changes to the rules every season and mid season will be expected. It does not work, just look at the other sanctions to verify. Milan had the deal covered and in check and now it is starting to get away.
X10 ill bet there are 4 or 5 SB cars, either finished or under construction that just tru in the towell!
