I have a concealed permit, and never have I had to get my weapon out until a week ago Thursday, we were in mo at 3.30 in the morning hours and the low fuel light was on for some time, we finally came upon a sign that said there was one station so we took it, went into the hood as some would call it, now here we are, two white guys and a crew cab dually pulling a 288 sunsation in the hood, I was driving and my son got out to put in diesel, now it got interesting one black guy came up to my door and wanted change for the bros, I explained to him we were broke, and after some other bs, he walked off. at this time my son was telling me to get the
brief case open and kept saying it over and over, (gun was locked up in my briefcase) I looked in the mirror and he was surrounded by 10 black guys and some were already in the boat, I grabbed the case and opened it and jacked one in the chamber as loud as I could make it (sig 45)and I assure you one thing, that is one language they understood, the distinct sound at 3.30 in the morning of that black talon being chambered, they jumped back over the fence where they came from, we got 10 gal and left. this could have gotten real bad, but they weren't going to touch my son. at all. the first guy that had walked off came back and told me that there were some people that knew how to get by in the hood and said i was one of them, he was looking in the truck and kept looking down at the sig pointed at the door, he said we was cool and nobody was going to bother us! i knew that, at least the first 7 werent and depending mabe the next 7.

Good lord man, change out your ammo every now and then. LOL I would hate to be in that predicament and have to worry if my 15 year old ammo that has saw hot/cold/sweat/moisture/etc was going to perform.

congrats on the good turn out. It almost got real bad, real quick.
we were in Nashville last week and my wife and 22 month old daughter were walking around down town and ventured a little too far away from the main venues. A couple of times I was wishing I had my 9mm on me. I pray that I would never have to use it in a situation like that, but it does make me feel a lot more secure.

I think Winchester got tired of the bullshit around it and stopped making them in the 90s. |

I think his son's awareness was top notch, way to alert dad without saying "get the fucking gun out!"

this is the gayest thread of all time on the gun section.........and racist too.........if you have a CC why is it locked up
in your briefcase at 3:30AM while driving in a bad part of town ? Having a gun does not make up for not having any street smarts/sense ! Oh and nice touch w the "Black Talons" which have not been made in like 10-15 years

I get upset when I hear these stories. Why do all you guys have guns locked under seats, in glove compartments and in briefcases. They need to be on your body at all times. Here's my thinking. When in my house the gun is in a combination safe that requires a 4 digit code next to my bed. Any time I leave the house and decide to carry the gun goes in my waistband round chambered ready to go. Period no execptions. If I'm not going to an appropiate gathering like the bar, a school event something like that I don't carry.
