Default Short "header" Spark Plugs

I'm sure you guys have seen them, short plugs for more header clearance, sold by Accel (not sure who makes them).

Other than a good selection of heat ranges and such, is there a big perforance drop using these?

I've used them plenty on street small blocks that had (cheap) header clearance issues. I've also used them on angle plug heads with standard headers.

My question is for my 540'' BBC / Dart 360's. It has Hooker Super Comps and they fit HORRIBLE. #6 takes three men and a boy to change the plug - with a modified (shortened and split socket). #8 is almost as bad and the other just plain suck, except for 1 or 2. Once I pulled the header just to change the plugs.

I don't know if this has changed or not, but at one point in the past when I had to use these the heat range selection was very limited.

Yes, selection is very limited. I've read a few other companies make them as well. I also read AC makes this short plug for Accel.

In a pinch, they work bad ass, especially on (street) small blocks with the wrong headers.

An .800 lift Roller in Aluminum Headed BBC might be a different story.
