I'd say Joe LePone wouldnt run at that place to start with. Plus he is/was a professional and there are tracks much better and closer to his home to test.

Prayers out to all involved and rip.
It would be up to the racer to chose weather run or not, how many racers you know would say, No,I'm not going down that track without emt. You don't know that until you drag your car out there and see. All the effort, time and money involved,I personally don't think ANY racer I know would say that. Not trying to start shit but reality is what it is. Johnny Rotten

Again, may the deceased RIP

Firstly, my condolences to those involved...

Now to you twatwaffle- Blown and Injected....

Seriously.... do you even race at all ? or do you just pretend to by selling those cute little model cars of race cars..... Didn't ever occur to you that when one of these smacks a wall, alot of times drivers can be stunned by impact or even knocked the fuck out while their foot is still planted on the loud pedal.........

A staff report

A spectator died at Harrells Raceway on Sunday when a car crash sent an engine hurtling into him, authorities said.
The wreck, which happened during a drag race about 9:20 p.m., killed Terry McDougald of Lillington, according to a news release from the Sampson County Sheriff's Office.
Driver Joseph Wactor of Brooklyn, N.Y., lost control of his drag car while traveling about 130 mph and struck a guard rail, the release said. The vehicle began disintegrating, and the engine flew 100 feet before striking McDougald.
McDougald was standing alongside the track's chain-link fence.
A second spectator was hurt by a burning fuel cell that flew from the vehicle. That person, who has not been identified, was taken to New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Wactor suffered multiple injuries but refused medical treatment, authorities said.
Flying debris from the vehicle hit several other cars, but no other injuries were reported.

Blown and Injected,I m not really sure, but from the accounts I have heard Joe was probably knocked out in the initial impact and had no control over the car afterwards. Johnny I have in the past gotten to a track and saw no ambulance and asked the manager when it would be there. He told me that the ambulance station was just down the road so they didnt think they needed them to be onsight. I got back in my truck and pulled to another track to race that day. I agree most wouldnt and the fact that my son was with me and had just started driving probably had a lot to do with it,but if more people refused to race in unsafe conditions dont you think the tracks would do what they had to do to keep us as safe as they could?

I also cant believe how some tracks will let a crowd stand on the starting line at these grudge events. Look on youtube and you can find what looks like hundreds of people standing all around and behind a car while it is doing a burnout and staging.

my regards to the deceased victim and his family...now...why are these tracks still using killrails?these thing dont do anything but shear cars apart and skewer drivers.god has a plan for everyone and this may been the mans time and a sign for this track to do something else before something even more dramatic and terrifying happens.i personally will not run at a track that has these.my home track use to have them and switched to the highway barriers to replace them.safer but i have seen a car go thru and over one.and the plus is they have medical and cops there every tnt and race to keep people back.prayers once again
