Default Would you buy a used procharger?

Im thinking about going the procharger route. It sure seems like there are A LOT of prochargers out there for sale at good prices (compared to new).

Would you buy a used procharger? If so, what would you look for? What would you stay away from?

Id be looking for an F1-R or F2

Thanks for the info.

i know that prochargers keeps the serial numbers in their computers and they can tell you if the unit has ever been survice or rebuild thats one off the things that i would check

I've seen a fairly large amount of durability issues with Prochargers..

If I were buying one used, I would have the seller send it to ProCharger and have them look at it first. Only costs about $100 to do that.

That is a VERY good suggestion. I can't imagine that anyone with a legitimate good used part would balk at that idea. I'd definately eat $100 extra to know I was buying a solid head unit.

I have had good luck with my used F2. I'd like to get a spare - haven't seen one on YP or RJ any ideas?

All I can suggest is know the buyer. Add to that the previous suggestion above and that is getting the serial number and calling Procharger with it to be sure first it isnt stolen and second to check the history. Our first one we almost bought used till we ran the number and found it to be stolen. I also had a friend buy a used one and by the time we had a new gearset put in it(even at my dealer cost) it was as much as a new one.

Having the seller send the head unit to procharger for inspection should cover both of those concerns right? Unless the seller is in cahoots with procharger, I don't think they'd lie to you.

The biggest problem I'm having so far is finding procharger brackets for a Mopar. Procharger doesn't make them, and it seems that every independent shop out there won't sell "Just Brackets". Everyone wants to sell you a new head unit with it.

Did you check with http://www.thesuperchargerstore.com/products.html on the Mopar brackets?

Yup. Bob told me they wouldn't sell brackets only. Only complete kits. I'm checking with NewEra (I sent an email) and SDCE on the east coast. Those are the only other two that I thought of that might have them.
