Default Reading plugs with methanol

Is there any difference when reading plugs when running methanol compared to gas? Any tips on reading plugs with methanol? Thanks for the help!

The tip and electrode will look clean, the base and the end of the threads will also look clean, except with slight color from heat ( usually little blue). BUT I mainly look at the color of the porcelin, should still be white, but have a little tan color to it. If you see little "black" specs on the porcelin, your running it too lean, it is metal particals, usually aluminum from detonation.

Shouldyounot also looktosee how far the blueish color has made its
way to the electrode? If the whole electrode is very blue, are you not
running too lean?

Just a newb question.

A local Pro/Mod racer told me you have to prime with alcohol instead of gas, as the gas will stain the plugs and screw up your readings.
