I was working on a construction site last year( you know thats where all the true stories are told), and I was telling this guy about my Blazer...He ask me what kinda times did it run...I told him right now it's not together but the old motor that was in it went 6.20's in the 1/8. He says "That ain't bad, but I got a buddy back home with an S10(Street Car) that ran 7.40's." I told him yeah that's pretty quick for an S10 in the 1/8...He says "Oh no, that's in the 1/4." I was like really??? What size motor did he have in it, and what power adders? He said just a 383 on the motor...Nitrous is for Pussies...Oh my bad, I never knew that all these ORSCA cars that ran deep into the 4's were slow and pussies? Now I know...LOL

That one right there really does piss me off. lol. Guys who don't know the difference between a 1/4 mile and an 1/8 mile. The ones whose buddies have cars that they have personally seen run 7.50's in the 1/4 with a 355 and no spray. No shit? 7's in the 1/4? Obviously my junk must not run worth a shit then. Me and my cousin were at test and tune one night trying some shit with his big block Nova. It had just run a best ever of 10.40 @ 130 and this kid walks up to tell us it was a nice car. Ok, thanks kid, appreciate it. Then he proceeds to tell us he has an old 80's fwd Daytona with the turbo 2.2 that runs 10's as well. "Really? What all have you done to it?" He says it's stock. I ask him why haven't I seen it at the track, since we've been out every Friday night getting the old Nova worked out. He says he races on Saturdays. Hmmm.....guess what they do on Saturdays, nothin but 1/8 mile bracket racing. So I tell him that's 1/8 mile, he says no it's 1/4 mile. Alright fine, I don't care to explain any further to this guy. I told him that's freakin awesome, and he should bring the car next Friday for a grudge race with the Nova, title for title. (Down here a car as old as the Nova does not have a title, but you know what I mean.) He got quiet and walked away, we never did see that Daytona. lol. I have seen the guy since, but he never brought it back up. I wonder why?

Gotta love the stories.
Back in the 90s when Quaker City was NHRA the tech was tough. There was a badass looking fox body "stang" I can't stand the "if I had traction" shit either. If you're running 14.9s @ 89 mph traction isn't gonna get you into the "12s" you think you car is capable of. Also "it has more in it" or "it has 9s in it" yeah, no shit. My 14 sec car has 8s in the 1/4 in it, if I wanna drop the money into it.

"My uncle had a car just like that. Only nice". Car show guys get to me. I was looking at a nice Camaro with a 502 in it. The guy comes over and tell me it runs 9's at some ridiculous MPH. I asked what track he went to and he says "you don't have top go to the track anymore. They have a computer program called desktop dyno. You put your info in it and then take the hp and put it in the desktop dragstrip program and it will tell you." Thats now the shop joke.

Where I live we all run 1/8 mile. The closest 1/4 is bout an hour and a half drive. I love it when you tell them a car runs 6.40 in the 1/8. Then they think because the 1/4 is twice as lond as the 1/8 that you just double the time and thats what it would run in the 1/4. What a phucking dickwad. Maybe its just me but I am pretty sure a 6.40 1/8 mile car will run a little faster than a 12.80 in the 1/4.
