That's fine with me but might have to be more liberal with the glass for some people. I have started a mailing list so anyone who wants to join in email me with details on your car as it fits to the above rules.

viperakron@aol.com. I'll be working with Al Matuska to contact Jim Curtis.

i dont care about lexan, i know thompson dont have scales but we need a 3,000 min weight! if it takes a pre-certification on a scale somewhere or portable scales 1 time weight in!

What ever you guys come up with I'm in whether its Englishtown rules or something that you guys put together on your own. If this class gets going and takes off like I hope it does then the rules can be adjusted accordingly one way or another. The only 3 things I wouldn't allow are delay boxes, throttle stops, and stickers all over the car other than that lets race.

HOW DO THESE RULES LOOK, version 2 ?

FACTORY APPEARING BODY
FINISHED INTERIOR
NO BRACKET ELECTRONICS PERMITTED

guys, I think the weight thing will exclude some nice machines if your looking at 3000lbs min. plus the lack of scales there just make it hard to enforce. I'd hate to exclude orange67's car because of a few pounds.

E-towns rules EXCLUDE import cars from competing, 2 import guys have asked me about imports racing. 1 guy has a toyota supra with a 6-cyl turbo, the other guy has a mazda rx8 with an american LSX engine, both of these cars are ultra nice and very clean.

I say bring them all, street car is a street car. Makes for a better show and a good rivalry. If we are to make this work the rules need to be bare minimum! And we need to be able to make exceptions for the good of the program, nothing is always black and white.

The first set of rules look ok to me I would try it at least once. It is a long haul for me but not that far. I live half way between Detroit and Toledo. My car has a notched rear frame rails so I can't run at Norwalk. I have been to Thompson once and it was a good experience.

Yes you can run at NRP, they cleared notching ok.

Otherwise for Thompson I would like to see this happen but seriously guys how hard is it to run mufflers? I like to be able to hear myself think inside my own car

Stay away from add this and add that! Street Appearing, No bracket electronics, Race! Race mufflers or header inserts aren't any quieter than open exhaust on most cars and it's just something for people to bitch about. Don't require them but you can surely run them if you want? All you have to do is run the number.

tom theonly reason i say the weight is to keep the all out 2400lb race cars out! it is easy to run 8.90 in a 2400-2600lb car! you should earn your qualifying spot! but i will go with the flow on how everyone else feels?
