Look up Mike Ridings. He is a member here and in Michigan.
Any of the builders here should also be able to fix you up. Jake

Hey Jake, I appreciate the help. You've been recommended several times to me by other forums. You must build some good stuff. I would love to ship my trans to you, but I think shipping it from MI to TX might be around $150 each way, that would be a big portion of the cost. If your recommending someone else, they should be just as good eh? lol Appreciate the help.
Does Mike Ridings have a business I can look up? Or a forum name? Thanks again. |

I have a new shop phone number to help better serve you guys. The new ph# is 586-843-9191.

A TH350 at 600 HP is pretty much attention to detail, they'll do it pretty much stock if you do the hydraulics right.

Awesome. I gave him a call and left a VM. Hopefully we can get things going. I greatly appreciate the help.
If you don't mind me asking, what would be your guess for the cost of a rebuild? I guess at this point, I would want a trans brake, manual valve body, and the hardest shift I can get. I may possibly replace my converter if necessary. I have no plans of going over 600 hp, so I wont need a full out drag trans....... My converter right now I believe is advertised as a 3 - 3.5 K converter. The dyno showed it locking up at 4,500 k....so...thats about all I know lol |

Chances are you'll find a blown up sprag in there.
I would use a 36 element sprag/drum, hardened race, etc if using a transbrake on the 350. Shifts need to be somewhat tame to 2nd to prevent sprag failure even with the big sprag. Converter will probably need to be cut open and cleaned at a minimum, Mike can take car of you there as well. It would be about a $1400 transmission from me with the brake, big sprag, deep aluminum pan, core, etc. I REALLY prefer to go to a TH400 if using a transbrake. It has stouter parts and the cost would be the same up front but the durability would be better in the long run.

Hrmm, say I took the trans brake out of the equation. What would that do to the whole setup? cost and build wise?
Again, I greatly appreciate the help. Im almost positive that I will be going with a trans brake, whether or not I plan on using it. But, the rear end wont take the abuse when and if I start using the brake. Last edited by BadaPwned; 07-13-2009 at 09:48 PM. |

That makes it a $800 transmission. No t-brake, no drum.
