Default Our Top 5 Wheelstands of the year.....so far

While we are always here looking for breaking news, there comes a time when we have to take a step back and survey the material that we have already been fortunate enough to capture. Some of the most sought after shots come in the form of wild wheel stands. While most of the time they are very hard on the car when they come down to meet the pavement, the fans packing the stands usually go wild with excitement. We decided that we will bring you the top five wheelies so far this season. Enjoy!

First out of the gate I headed to Cecil County Dragway for the season opener of their Outlaw Street Car Shootout. Jeff Moyer was trying his hand at the outlaw drag radial class but was basically testing out his 275 drag radial tune-up. Jeff stepped it up a bit for the first round and brought the nitrous in pretty quick and it ended up with a spectacular wheel stand and only minor damage on the downfall.

Our next stop was at the NMRA Atco event and as usual it was plenty of wheels up action for all to see. Friday night had some great photo opportunities but it was Sunday's eliminations that would bring out the cream of the crop. Tim Matherly is one of those who laid it all out and provided us with a six shot sequence of bumper dragging action.

I was there for Tim's wild ride....it was even more impressive in person. That's one hell of a wheelstand for a little 'ol 2 valve motor!!
