10 inch is about the most you can go without seriously cutting out the rear frame rail to nothing. 10 inch rim and a 295 or 315 works well for some really fast guys.

With a full notch and a stock width rear you can fit a 10 in wheel with a 5.5 bs

1988 Cutlass, but a G body is a G body. I have a 9" rear with
12" rims that have 6.5" backspace. They have 29.5 x 10.5w
on them with no problems.

But my rails are moved the same amount as a notch
Its the rear being narrowed that allows the 12" rim

ive got a 12 bolt factory long, with a 10 inch wheel, and 6.5 of backspace. i dont know about a 12 inch wheel, its really tight with a 10 inch wheel, if i shortened my axle tube and axles i could tuck the tire in more but a 12 might work. its hard to say, it gets really tight with the setup i've got.

That's true I have a 9.5 rim with a 10.5 x 29.5 and it's tight. 12" is a real stretch for sure.

Ten inch is about it without relocating the springs n lower control arm . I got the most notching you can do on the outer frame leaving the stock inner per the rules and i can fit a 10.5x28 w or a 10x29.5 and thats all .
