10.5 and 8.5 looking for some of the best in the US

What I'm looking for is some kick azz events in the lower 48 states....that have good car count and spectator count also that would like to have some video and photo coverage at the events. I know about some of the known ones but they have been locked up sort of by others. Looking for word of mouth and on there local web sites only but could be made bigger if they were covered better. A good hit list for 2009 if any one cares to respond with some info. and any links, I'm in Texas and thinking about doing a little traveling doing this as the escape from the day job..

valley is in louisville ky - every third sat of the month they have an outlaw race. 7.5 index 6.5 index, limited 8.5, true street(29.5x10.5 max), pro street, and think its outlaw... not sure. great racing. would make for great photo and video

In West Texas we have the West Texas True Ten Five Association. This is the website. http://www.westtexastruetenfive.com
Alot of cool cars run in this class and the rules are a little different than most 10.5 classes because they do not allow wheelie bars. Talk about alot of wheel stands during these events. More than 16 cars usually show up and this year we are seeing cars run in the 5.30's. This is pretty good considering we are at +3000' above sea level. Below is the schedule for 2009. Thanks for the reply's and yes I like the 8.5 I left a voice mail and sent Joe Golden an email I'm thinking about maybe kicking in $200.00 on the 8.5 purse at the next race to help get the car count up. I'm thinking the $200.00 for the winner that would make $1,000.00 to win.

they been some high 60's low 70's in limited trim in 8.5 this year. heard of some .4x in osm trim. last year vern with that .3x! gonna be an exciting year!

might have some 4.9 in true street this year. 10.5 no bars

Actually that is Kevin (NitroVid) who is part of NitroArt that offered to throw in the $200. Thanks for offering to buy pics though. Just to let you know, I wont know until the week of the race if I will be coming to Houston-TXDRL to shoot pics or not. I live in Waco.... Last event pic sales were flat.

Milan Dragway will have a kick ass program this season . . . . By the 2nd or 3rd race you will see full 32 car fields in both True 10.5 and Outlaw 8.5.

I didn't think we had that much intrest in 8.5 up here . who have you talked with that's going to run ? everyone I talk to thinks I'm nuts for wanting to try it

I have 4 guys at work alone that are gonna race in the class, plus about another 10-15 I have talked to that said there gonna switch over and run it.

Plus the guys from ohio and ind. that will come up for a few races to run with us too !!

Keep me informed on the first couple of races you guys have in MI. I'm originally from MI. Moved south 20 plus years ago Texas for the weather, I would come back in July and August I think that is your summer from what I remember...LOL They race 11 months out of 12 in Texas.........

July 18th should be a cool race to come too, their running the saturday shootout (true 10.5, outlaw 8.5) along with jet wars, and the UMTR assc. !!!!
