Strange fails as well..........there is a reason these parts fail, and odds are its "not" the axle's fault........but a suspension or housing flexing/alignment problem

Hi: This looks like a bent or flexing housing with a mini spool. The mini spool rotates on the center pin and works the axle back and fourth until it breaks it like your photo shows. This may have been the result of a pin breaking first as it did.Mini spools are for circle track use only.thanks doug

Someone asked the same question on another fourm, they all responded the same. One included a video of moser axel breaking after the eliminators.

I had a Moser axel break on the outside of the c clip eliminator. Luckily the tire wedged itself up in the fenderwell and it happended maybe 30 feet out. When I called them to find out about the warranty I told them it was on a drag radial car and they hung up on me. Never sold or used a Moser axle since then and that was 4 years ago.

This was compliments of Moser a couple of years ago. This was on the sixth pass on a new set.

I would have never thought it was going to break without using a trans break. This is the pass before it broke.

If your axles are made for 9" bearings and NOT c-clip eliminators you should be fine.

the 35 spline axles are no larger than the smaller models....I have gun drilled 40 mosers and they look way fatter
However Moser does offer warrentys.......Id send them back and ask for new ones,if they do not cooroperate buy some Strange 40s

I agree.....If a 750" motor was ready to go right now and for $15k to $20k I would be seeing it all over again

The motor will get WHATEVER it needs, the trans will get about 24% of a after thought, with the rear getting 9 to 13% of a after thought (not the gear ratio, just the parts needed) and much haggling/bitching about price....while actually the driveshaft gets no thought until it breaks, wrecks the trans and rear/possibly exhaust and then even after living that experience, haggle/bitch some more about the price, never listen to any advice given....

Upgrading though, i have watched guys throw stupid money on some aftermarket f.i. system at $4500 + and do nothing anywhere else.. meanwhile they could have gotten more hp from a lighter shaft, better trans, rear done with different bearings, microed gears or other stuff for much less then the dopey bolt on parts...

Lol and then they ask how so and so's car breaks records... he didn't buy the $4500 f.i. sys and the $1400 lap top, he bought a $475 demon and tuned it for a day and a half... and he uses cer bearings with micro gears...while you banked on the miracle hp bolt on...

I see it everyday...

Also i don't care what you are using as for the BEST parts.... IF you keep running the car with tire shake and hop or a bent housing, bad wheel, diff sized tires, you'll break whatever you put in it.... fix it or get off the pedal when it happens...
This is the hardest thing to explain to the 4x crowd, they think oh we'll fix it we'll put a eaton ds-461-p (big 45,000 truck rear)........right that's the answer, see how much that ds461 likes to be bounced and loaded/unloaded

(running moser in my own vehicles for longer then i want to remember)

Moser has a 10 year warranty. I broke my 33 spline after 9 yrs and 6 months. They replaced them with 35 spline. I had up graded everything through out the years except the axles. I agree, " tire shake is a bitch"
