In our class we can run either race fuel or Alchohol. I am limited to 360 cubic inches and any power adder. I was thinking of going with an F2R with a geardrive for sure. I already have the Bigstuff. The bore is a 4.18 and stroke is 3.25 and the heads flow 405@.800. This is a true 10.5 car and no wheely bars and 3250#. Would you go alchohol or Q16?

If there's no restrictions to boost, it's a no brainer, go with the alcohol.
Blessings..........Ron.

Wow, pretty big head for a 360.... Why use the F2? The F3 117 would be a better choice as the transmission will hold up under 1/4 mile abuse where the F2 will not.....You don't have to use alcohol a combo like this with an F3 can run mid 7s on C-16

Alchohol from what I here will require more maintenance that fuel will. But I will need an innercooler and cooling system for the motor. Which will be more weight as well as hassle with the ice. But if it will truly be better, I will do it. I just wanted opinions from you guys who have done it. I know some have ran both. Thanks for your input.

I would suggest the F3 also Better blower and will make more power.
Alky on EFI is the better choice for you as long as your rules allow. |

If you had a gear drive and a carb I would use alky that's just me. Alky does have it's problems from corrosion, storage, and water plus requires big expense in fuel system with EFI... Put a cooler under dash butting up to Throttle body so you only have one pipe from blower to cooler... Gasoline runs just as fast just not as good tuning window.

Alky- $2.99/gallon
C16-$11/gallon More power/less weight. At the end of the year, you will rip the motor down anyways. I think it's a no brainer

I myself was going to run alcohol in my 360ci sbf with an F3 but decided on c16. The alcohol has its advantages but with all the maintenence that is created by just the fuel it changed my mind. Your gonna have to work on that car enough why make it worse for yourself? As far as a cooling system goes for the engine just get a 3gallon cell and a remote water pump and your set. Also go with the F3 unless all you wanna run is 1/8th mile.

All we run is the 1/8 mile here. The air is terrible also. We are in West Texas and it is a Desert. Corrected air altitude is normally around 6200 ft. The best my weatherstation ever recorded here was 3200 ft. We are at 2780 ft. actual altitude. We will make between 35-45 passes ayear on the car once the tuneup is figured out. I know I will be around 130-150 pounds heavy with the c-16 and innercooler.

i would think about running alcohol. you could do away with the intercooler and run a small eng system as the alky would cool everything a lot. you may have to run dual injectors though, so make sure the BS3 has that upgrade. C-16 is pretty expensive too.

Alcohol gives a way larger tuning window. If your worried about maintence then take up fishing. It's a race car.

We have decided to run alchohol. Made the call to Bigstuff to configure the box for Alchohol and install O2 upgrade. Now I will try to find some 550# Moran injectors for a fair price. Also decided on an F3-123. Should be a beast. Thanks for everyones input.
