I'm working on a 05 Buick Rainier awd. The problem is it feels like it has a spool in it ,but when I pulled the diff. cover every thing looks fine and both wheels turn independent of each other. Another shop quoted a rear. I'm not so sure. Any ideas?
Thanks
well asshat, spend 3 days with a 20# sledge beating the rear rotors off and take all the emergency brake shit off and throw it in the fucking garbage... just a thought
if its awd check for matching size and brand tires. i have seen some of them with same size but 2 of one brand and 2 of another brand and it makes the tcase bind which makes it feel as if the rearend is a locked diff. you can measure the rollout(circ) of the tires and see the difference . awd tires must be same size, same brand and preferably same tread depth, have seen 2 new and 2old do the same thing
Check the front diff actuator - being stuck on, or the encoder motor on the transfer case for being in the wrong position. Changed a bunch of the encoder motors.
