I have a 1995 Suburban, Im easy on the brake pedal, stops great but the brake dust is nasty on the polished wheels. Any suggestions on what brake pads to use that have little or no brake dust.
Akebono is a high end brand that is OE on General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Chrysler, Honda, Toyota, Mitsubishi Motors, Mazda, Nissan, Subaru and Isuzu. Pricier than other aftermarket brands but low noise/dust.
I guess they didn't use these on my wife's 2014 CRV. The front wheels are black 100 miles after a wash. She only has 1500 miles on it so far and I'm about to take it to the dealer and complain.. Can't keep the wheels clean and she drives like a 70 hear old..
I like the VGX pads...no noise and next to no dust. they stop excellent too. if you are looking for parts store pads just get their best ceramic pad.....the VGX pads are not expensive either...just my .02
Don't use Friction Master Ceramic. Those things have squealed on my car since day one. I've had them off twice. Scuffed the pad and put anti-squeal on the back. It didn't help.
if you drive more city miles they will drag and dust out more than driving highway miles as the pads are knocked back , don't care about dust as if the brakes don't stop me them pretty wheels are going to be fucked up anyways .. and wax the wheel surface after cleaning them it helps . going to see a big difference with brake pads anyways as now copper is being removed from the pads .
I've only used them on one car, but I love them. Every pad I tried before on my wife's Lincoln LS squeaked with varying degrees of dust. Akebonos on it now are silent and, as far as I can tel,l dust free.
You might try World Brake Product ceramic pads.
Been using these for years on customer and used cars. I get them at a local warehouse at a good price too.
If you want to try a set on your crv, shoot me a PM.
