My wife worked/volunteered in a post abortion clinic for quite a few years. This ladies reaction is not unlike just about everyone elses reaction when put in the same situation. If I was to put a washed off lump from an abortion in your hand, I willing to bet it would change your mind about the subject as well.

I am not as anti prochoice as many would think, as everyone is free to make their own minds up. My biggest issue is seldomn do people making the decision to get an abortion make an informed decision. They have a DR telling them all is good, sign a cheque, see them for a painless operation, and go on with your life. Well it doesnt always work that way.

With zero data to go by, this is all a guess. But it would appear a large percentage of woman have mental issues (regrets) afterwards. If it is not a large percentage, then a heck of a lot of woman are getting abortions. If they had been well informed in the first place, they might not be in the same situation afterwards.

The antiabortion people I do know all have adopted/fostered children, and help woman that keep children either support them or adopt them. The whole point is if people had real information/education they would likely make better choices in the beginning, and not have to worry about hard choices afterwards.

When a girl/woman is in that type of situation, thinking reasonable may not be on the top of the list. How many times do you read about a teen or woman that is pregnant, hid it from her family, and has given birth only to kill the newborn baby? Rational thinking says abortion is not something to do....but emotions over-ride that thinking.

at 5 weeks your talking a lump of blood clot the size of a marble (not unlike a heavy clotted period)... same as a misscarry millions of woman flush down the can. IT IS NOT an infant grabbing the doctors hand and screaming for its life. 3rd trimester abortions are not as legal as pro-life side claims.

I will not worry about what might happen. If something happens I don't like I will take appropriate action. To get all worked up otherwise is not something I will waste anytime on. Our economy is for the most part ruined. It was going to hell in a hand basket regardless of who is sitting in the Whitehouse.

And sign me up for that Gold Road. Perhaps If I ran for Congress with the only campaign promise to vote no for everything maybe... just maybe I could get that healthcare package.
