New XD .40 and super cheap grip idea

Just picked this gun up today, shot about 50 rounds through it. It is a very nice gun IMO, it felt better than the .45, and had a little more oomff than the 9mm.
I want to get some better night sites, and at least 2 more clips.

I made the choice for this over the Glock 17 which was a 9mm. This gun came with plenty of extra's..Nice case, speed loader, and a adjustable tension gun holster which actually works better than it looks. The clips are super nice, and made of stainless steel.
It has a chambered round indicator, they pops up if there is one locked and ready to rock. I also like the ambidextrous clip release from either side.
It has the built in as cast light mount also..

Also most of the over the counter grips present a problem with the grip safety...so I came up with a cheap solution for sure....

This grip is a $5 Bicycle tube... I cut a section of 8" or so and wrestled it on and over the grip..it is rolled a tad in a few places. and really provides a very affordable non slip grip if your hands are wet or sweaty...

i put true glow tritium sights on my xd. and would pay a gun shop to do it if i were you. they are extremely tight. i bought a tool to install sights. it would not even budge them. the last pic was in total darkness. the red glow was from the camera.

It contained watermelon seeds, Cornbread mix, and Ten coupons to KFC. Directions were in Spanish.
