Too much downforce? I read it suffered handling problems, could this be a front/rear balance issue? The C7's seem to be the cars losing control a lot, Frigo, Marinis, the white Small Block Mafia car, Paulo Guist, the blue one from the Carolinas (now he runs an orange 60's Vette), Troy Coughlin had some great saves last year. Manzo tuned one last year and now that team had a 2017 Camaro built.

Are we really going to list how many wrecks there have been with C7 bodies as proof of aerodynamic stability?
We all know there are many factors that cause wrecks. Most of them due to overdriving the car.

It all boils down to working on your car to make it stable. some cars, like the 68 Camaro V-4 body, are pretty stable with no splitter and a small wicker. Some bodies, like the 69 Camaro, require a front splitter and no wicker due to its oversized rear deck. Other bodies require both a front splitter and a wicker. Now wickers and splitters are only two of many aerodynamic factors, but are the most common to modify.

For example, I have had many a driver tell me they run a 3/4 inch wicker because the ass end is all over the track on the top end.
After looking at the shock data (and ride height if they have them), it is common to find the back end of the car is smashed into the ground and front end isn't even back to normal ride height. Slap a front splitter on it and decrease the wicker and the car drives better then it ever did before.

You're right, there's a lot of factors. I was just putting together what I read along with what's happened, could be a complete coincidence.

The 2017 Camaro bodies(that are pictured in this thread), are fairly ugly...They remind me of the dodge bodies in NHRA Pro Stock...

^^^^^^^

I agree. The front is almost as long as the door & rear qtr and the rear quarters look similar the the Willy's body (I hate the humps for tire clearance)! Pretty darn ugly...but very aerodynamic.

Agreed, function over form here. NHRA PM is so competitive that it makes sense.

Do you with the weight breaks that has been given to the nostalgia bodies would make a body like a willys competitive?

I think the weight break helps and a Willys body could certainly win a race. (Ed Wilson has done a great job with his.) But would it be consistently "competitive" in the true sense of that word? Not in the NHRA 1/4 mile series, no.

I saw Coughlin's car in Vegas make a down track move that was freaking jaw clenching at 265+mph. I agree with Jeff that an incident has many factors. But for whatever reason, the C7 seems to allow a smaller window of error. Just my gut opinion. They look nice though, LOL.

Same body that Bickel has used the last 6 years. Very little changes. This is from early 2012
