I miss reading shit like that........Those were the good ol days. The mid 90s is where it all ended. Im sick of reading about how to build a SBC and Pro Touring cars.

I would have never thought that the times and speeds I'm seeing nowadays would have been doable on anything less than a BIG ass slick...The tire technology has really made a big difference...you used to need a backhalf and slicks, remember Pro Street? And don't even get me going about engine performance....back in the day 600hp was a big deal...WOW!
Back in the day and still today, i would like to see half these people build 600hp from stock rods cast iron cranks and cast pistons and 4 speeds and still race, anybody can install a soild fuel rocket engine on the back of a car and go racing and claim they make big horse power with money and candy store parts. Sure it takes talent to get any package to work. Then after they blow it up they wanta know about the basics of what happened. Old School and pro stock will always be the teachers period.
My Dad had a 70 Chevelle and I would buy every mag this car was in just hoping he would chop up a mint numbers matching car so we could go race, sure glad he didn't listen to his kid. But I sure loved this car back in the day.
