Car has a 450 odd Hp sbc tko 600 gearbox, 26 spl input shaft, & 3.7 rear gears,, weighs around 3300lbs & is a general use vehicle, Some towing, street very occasional strip. would prefer a light pedal effort & obviously adequate holding power. I have a steel 168 t flywheel, & a lakewood scattershield with a fork & slave cyl for actuation. Please ask if I have left out anything Thx for reading

A SPEC Stage 2 would work nicely. Kevlar lining. Been running their Kevlar in my 12-second street/strip mustang for 7 years.

Part number for the GM 11" 26 spline is SC202. (For use with 168t flywheel and 26 spline)

Mike I just can not understand why The centerforce dual friction clutch that I bought, & of course I bought the recommended one. It just slipped like a bastard from day one. After 42 emails to the manufacturer Who rightly asked all the obvious questions,, ruling out incompetence on the fitters behalf etc. I then decided to send it to a semi local racing clutch specialist, Who basically re manufactured it, removed the counterweights, upped the clamping pressure which of course raised the pedal pressure. BUT the end result is a clutch that operates as it should.. I totally believe that Centerforce must sell a number of these clutches,, & surely if they were all like this one they would be out of business,, so clearly this must have been an isolated case .. None the less it is very unlikely that any more of my money will be sent in their direction.

Sufficient freeplay, the bearing had absolutely no pressure being applied to the fingers. No, the diaphragm fingers wend down evenly & there was no oily contamination, Also because of the problem, the flywheel was surfaced on a Van Norman surfacer, prior to installation. After the clutch rebuild the flywheel, since it had been surfaced remained as was. So the only change was the rebuild

Call or email Mike Norcia at Ram Clutches. He recommended a clutch for my truck, and I've been very happy with it. Being that you're in Australia, you might rather email him; I can get his direct email address for you today when I get home from work if you like.

I like although I have sorted this out be sure that I will never purchase another one of those clutches again... I have been doing this stuff for well over 40 years and never come across a problem like this in that time.. all new parts & hopeless performance.

Call, or get in touch with Cale Aronson. Sounds like you have it covered though. 816 390-0852. The silver levers are counter weights that you can add or take out.

Yes mike I had considered that also, But at the time I was going through this he was injured, so I thought it best to not bother him.

You are right With another large financial investment I have been able to take a POS & now have an operating good & most importantly, NON slipping clutch,, Honestly that thing was a joke in poor taste.

Ok thanks,, Unfortunately I must have gotten a dud clutch! It was a Centerforce Part # DF 148552... That was the one that the Centerforce sales rep recommended for my application. Truly when I first installed it it was basically undrivable, It slipped worse than I have ever seen EVER. After sending it to the clutch man here & him repairing it,,,,, it now works as it should,,,,,,& all I gave to him was the pressure plate and disc,,,,, Clearly it was faulty
