I'm too lazy search. What is low down on the comparison between the Hoosier 8.5 and M/T 8.5? We seemed to struggle this past weekend with the MT 8.5. This was the first time out with the car since SCSN. No surprise that the 2 cars in the final were 28x10.5. They have the advantage over the 8.5 as track temps got hot and the track got greasy.

What tire would you guys sugest for a 3000lb AWD with very limited burn out and tire temps? Looking at either the Hoosier or M&H 8.5 or MT?

After this weekend it's clear to me that multiple tires in the same class at different weights / rules doesn't make sense. HP, MPH, tuneup, etc means NOTHING if one car can get off the line and another one can't. With the varying track conditions we race in, it's not a simple matter of "smaller tire = slower pass", it's more like "smaller tire = no pass" if you intend to keep up. The limited guys are slower than the 8.5 cars (or at least they were when the 8.5 cars had less weight), but they are close, put them on 10.5's and a less than supreme surface and there is a clear advantage at the line where the race is usually decided. The problem is the same, just less exaggerated when you compare the Hoosier to the Mickey.

This weekend the track was good (depending on who you talked to and what tire they were running). This will only get worse in the summer months.

Of course, this is only my opinion.

DJ I couldnt agree more, we had no chance with the 8.5 MT in the heat, I hope they take a look at this for the next race.

How does this sound...... Everyone @ 3200lbs and an 8.5 of your choice.

Just a new guy to 8.5 thinking outloud.

We'd be there in a heartbeat...

Hell, drop the Hoosier hit *for all cars* and I think it'd be better. Not sure how to handle it for the 10.5 vs 8.5 tho. That 10.5 IS A MONSTER compared to the 8.5.
