Default Cross Ram manifold

Anybody messed with cross ram intakes? I´m building 388 sbc with 220 canfield heads and with sy1 cross ram...hvh super sucker spacer and 850 annular 4150. I know it´s not the greatest intake out there but I really like the old school bad ass look. I would think those straight runners can flow some air? true or false?

I have a factory 302 style intake on a 327 motor I put together for a buddy. The power band is very reminiscent of the old TPI motors.

I have setup a couple and I am currently doing one for my 66 Nova. Mine is an Offy cross ram, they have a small ledge cast into them to prevent puddling. John at AED is very knowledgeable about cross ram carbs and has helped me out.
You can still make one to run good on the street and make respectable power. I am like you, I just want one for the vintage look.

Speaking of Cross Rams and TPI I am currently building one based on a TPI manifold. I have welded up the TPI ports to a Felpro 1206 configuration. I call it a TPI Cross Ram. Here are a couple of progress pictures. The runners at this point are to long and will have about an inch cut off of them for the final fitting. I plan on using the 3rd harmonic wave. I have a thread going on Speed Talk and 3rdGen.org.
