First I have to say it laid me back in the chair with WTF I didn't know info was spilled out on a previous post that was UNNECESSARY and NEVER should have happened..........loose lips sinks ships.

What we did to cure it....no big secret. It's just basic fine tuning the car/ set-up.

At first testing we had the car set on kill to get after a et that we know is in the car. We know it makes more power than last year as posted and we stepped up the nos since going to the Hoosiers, new shocks and a 4 link adjustment change ...it didn't work.....too aggressive. So we made another change to the 4 link, moved weight around on the car, backed down the nos setting 24n 26f, changed counter weight on the clutch and then played with timing in the power grid. Car went down the track clean. Now we know the motor and chassis likes the nos hit where it is, so we are going to play with timing and clutch to run the number.

Monte, who has the TD your talking about? Will it be at the Southern Nationals this weekend?

I went 6.57 206 at Indy last weekend in TD. One carb conventional heads. Went 6.61@210 last year with both systems. Think I can go low 50's with both.

I will be at Atlanta this weekend racing TD, hopefully the car your talking about will be there also.

The little motor is long gone at this point, replaced with a Buck Racing 728. It now goes 6.20s on two small kits............lol. He was at Virginia on one gun, running low .50s. It's a 210 TD, black, with a nitrous bottle wrap and mono-strut wing. Warren Heaps. His home track is Epping NH, so doubt he will be in Atlanta

Thanks Monte, that is flying. The fastest I have heard of is .50's, I know Tracy Dennis and Jimmy Lewis went 50's a few years back. It's a bitch to go much faster...kinda like your guy, 700"+ with 2 kits and still only a few tenths faster.

Well, we were spraying the little motor HARD to go .50s and the big mtor has two small kits and goes .20s. Easier to race and much easier on parts.

Warren's car is on my website.........about the 4th pic down on "customers" page. It was a 565, with AFR heads

Yep, still in the M&M which seems to be a great choice as it goes down the track killer so far.

Engine is a 615 APD with brodix HH heads and the new type eldebrock intake. One APD 1250, normally spray one fogger 32n30f on renegade k16 which is equivalant to q16. Have sprayed a 35n33f and the second kit which is a plate with a 200 shot as per nx to go 210. Haven't got to get after that set up this year but plan on it soon!

John at APD wants me to put 40's in it...he hasen't signed up to buy pistons yet so we are waiting on that! I am sure I am leaving lots on the table that guys like Monte and John could get out of it but we run it really conservative, blowing up is not cool in our camp. We do it enough like it is.

Thanks,
Lynn Ellison
