Default NHRA Pro Mod Q1

Left Lane: Chip King Runs 6.282/242.32, Now #1
Right Lane: Jay Payne Runs 9.986/90.86, Now #2
2:25 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 83 degrees, relative humidity 62 percent, barometer 29.90 inches, adjusted altitude 2,497 feet, track temperature 114 degrees.

Both drivers launched into tire shake, Payne lifting, King pedaling and continuing.
Left Lane: Kenny Lang Runs 5.960/242.63, Now #1 Right Lane: Brad Brand Runs 6.023/247.38, Now #2Brand is driving in place of car owner Roger Burgess.

Both cars made smooth, full passes. Brand's Corvette used up a little more of his lane than Lang's Camaro did of his.

Kenny Lang's incremental times: 60ft-0.984 sec., 330ft-2.620, 660ft-3.922/191.19 mph, 1,000ft-5.030.
Left Lane: Steve Matusek Runs 6.145/246.21, Now #3 Right Lane: Pete Farber Runs 11.807/84.88, Now #6Farber lost traction and lifted. Matusek launched, pedaled at least once.
Left Lane: Troy Coughlin Runs 6.074/245.49, Now #3 Right Lane: Donald Walsh Runs 8.823/120.79, Now #6Walsh spooled it up, launched, and lost traction. Coughlin made a relatively problem-free run after a soft launch.
Left Lane: Mike Knowles Runs 6.312/219.36, Now #7 Right Lane: Donald Martin Runs 5.979/244.47, Now #2For about 800 feet this was a nice side-by-side race. Then Knowles' car started trailing "death smoke" and slowed. But the track is clean and dry, so the Safety Safari can sit back down.

Donald Martin's incremental times: 60ft-1.009 sec., 330ft-2.658, 660ft-3.958/191.87 mph, 1,000ft-5.058.
Left Lane: Danny Rowe Runs 5.984/243.99, Now #3 Right Lane: Leah Pruett Runs 6.008/249.86, Now #4Pruett got her car off the line cleanly and had no visible problems. Rowe's run was even better-looking. They slid into the order in third and fourth.

Danny Rowe's incremental times: 60ft-1.000 sec., 330ft-2.660, 660ft-3.962/192.22 mph, 1,000ft-5.060.
Leah Pruett's incremental times: 60ft-1.040 sec., 330ft-2.742, 660ft-4.025/195.03 mph, 1,000ft-5.104.
Left Lane: Rickie Smith Runs 6.004/241.89, Now #5 Right Lane: Mike Castellana Runs 5.899/243.11, Now #1 660ft-3.974/197.57 mph, 1,000ft-5.075.
Mike Castellana's incremental times: 60ft-0.981 sec., 330ft-2.613, 660ft-3.888/195.08 mph, 1,000ft-4.976.

It's a 481X , not sure on CI but it does run the spec turbos that the rules specify .

There the two best nitrous cars in Legal trim hands down! It's not there fault everyone ran and switched to different combos that are struggling now. They stuck with it through the thick and thin! How many other NOS car's are even attempting to qualify?

Saturday
Results for Elimination Round 1
BAYTOWN, Texas - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 1 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 25th annual O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries: W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed (W) Pete Farber (T.J. & Sons Auto Repair *'69 D 0.062 6.052 244.87 (L) Donald Martin (Sterling Bridge *'68 Camaro) 0.049 6.338 233.244:57 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 84 degrees, relative humidity 59 percent, barometer 29.88 inches, adjusted altitude 2,549 feet, track temperature 118 degrees.
Both drivers shook on the launch, Farber's car getting a bit sideways. Both recovered and it started out to be a good race, but Martin's car started losing ground and there was a big trail of "death smoke" in the lights. (W) Troy Coughlin (Jeg's t'68 Camaro) 0.040 5.997 247.70 (L) Leah Pruett (ProCare RX t'12 Mustang) 0.096 5.972 249.86Coughlin's car has been consistent so far this weekend, but Pruett's has been a little quicker.
Coughlin had a nice advantage on the tree and held on for the holeshot win, running his best ET of the weekend. Troy Coughlin's incremental margins: 60ft(0.064), 330 ft(0.054), 660ft(0.047), 1,000ft(0.037). MOV: 0.0314 seconds (approximately 12 feet). (W) Kenny Lang (Summit Racing Equipment '69 Cam 0.033 5.995 239.95 (L) Jay Payne (FireIce '12 Camaro) 0.024 9.974 89.93Payne left first, but his car shook and danced until he lifted. Lang had a pretty good light and a pretty good run for an easy win. (W) Brad Brand ('53 Corvette) 0.057 5.977 245.49 (L) Chip King (Strutmasters t'69 Daytona) 0.014 6.074 248.25King had a nice advantage on the tree, but Brand made that up before the 330-foot timing mark, then pulled away for the win. Brad Brand's incremental margins (negative if behind): 60ft(-0.024), 330 ft(0.029), 660ft(0.042), 1,000ft(0.052). MOV: 0.0542 seconds (approximately 20 feet). He will have lane choice against Lang in round two. (W) Danny Rowe (Sterling Bridge *'68 Camaro) 0.145 5.951 244.92 (L) Mike Knowles (Mike Knowles Racing *'68 Cama 0.013 11.413 78.30Knowles lost traction immediately, smoking the tires. Rowe made a nice-looking run, straight and smooth. He will have lane choice against Coughlin in round two. (W) Donald Walsh (Walsh Precision Turbo t'11 Mu 0.038 6.098 247.34 (L) Rickie Smith (IDG '11 Camaro) 0.062 15.686 53.51Smith's car did almost the same thing it did on his final qualifying run, the car shaking and loose. He lifted, conceding the win to Walsh. Walsh will not have lane choice when he faces Farber in round two. (W) Steve Matusek (Aeromotive/Ford/Roush Yates 0.061 6.267 226.20 (L) Mike Castellana (Al-Anabi '69 Camaro) 0.119 6.613 203.46Castellana made two very good runs in three tries during qualifying. Matusek made two okay runs in three tries during qualifying. So much for good versus great...Castellana was late, then his car shook and got sideways and he lost a bunch of time getting it straightened out. Matusek was on time with his launch, then lost a bunch of time with tire shake of his own, but he recovered sooner and straighter to take the win. He gets a bye to the semifinals. * = Supercharged Engine t = Turbocharged Engine

Sunday
Results for Elimination Round 2
BAYTOWN, Texas - SUMMIT FastNews - Results of round 2 eliminations in Pro Modified at the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series, 25th annual O'Reilly NHRA Spring Nationals presented by Super Start Batteries: W/L Driver R-Time E-Time Speed (W) Steve Matusek (Aeromotive/Ford/Roush Yates 0.084 7.712 133.83 was unopposed1:46 p.m. Weather conditions: air temperature 85 degrees, relative humidity 63 percent, barometer 29.97 inches, adjusted altitude 2,610 feet, track temperature 121 degrees.
Matusek pulled off a huge upset over the #1 qualifier, Mike Castellana, in round one and gets a free tuning pass here to get ready for the semifinals.
Matusek made a hard launch, but the car made a hard move about where the front end came down and he had his hands full, choosing to slow. Good choice! (W) Donald Walsh (Walsh Precision Turbo t'11 Mu 0.043 6.112 249.03 (L) Pete Farber (T.J. & Sons Auto Repair *'69 D 0.006 6.323 238.64This is the first time Walsh and Farber have faced each other in eliminations.
Farber had a psychic light and led for the first 500 feet, then shook and got very sideways. He pedaled and still made it close, but Walsh had fewer problems and got the win light. (W) Kenny Lang (Summit Racing Equipment '69 Cam 0.002 6.019 241.07 (L) Brad Brand ('53 Corvette) 0.051 5.987 249.95This is the first time Brand and Lang have faced each other in eliminations.
Lang also posted a psychic light and held on for the holeshot win. Brand had an average light and a good run, but could not run him down. Kenny Lang's incremental margins: 60ft(0.096), 330 ft(0.149), 660ft(0.10, 1,000ft(0.055). MOV: 0.0171 seconds (approximately 6 feet). Lang will have lane choice against Matusek in the semifinals. (W) Danny Rowe (Sterling Bridge *'68 Camaro) 0.010 5.954 245.45 (L) Troy Coughlin (Jeg's t'68 Camaro) 0.066 6.041 247.43Rowe is 1 - 0 against Coughlin in prior events. This time the great reaction time came in the left lane - not a double-oh, but it was as close as you can get. Rowe paired the great light with a solid run and won by more than a couple of car lengths. He will have lane choice against Walsh in the semifinals. * = Supercharged Engine t = Turbocharged Engine
