Default Just made the jump from a Dyna to an FLH

Traded in my 2011 Dyna Wide Glide on a 2011 FLH Street Glide. I am simply amazed at the difference between the two bikes. The Dyna was a fun "ice cream" bike but on the highways and on rides longer than 40-50 miles, it lost the fun fast. The FLH is amazing on the highway. It feels like it is so stable and smooth. I feel like I could do 500 miles on this thing and go back for more. I wish I knew how different they were before I bought the Dyna, I probably would have just started with the Street Glide.

Now I have to start putting cash aside for pipes, air filter, and tune. Damn, I cant wait to ride it again. It was even a nice ride in the rain....simply amazing.

You saw the light just like I did 10 yrs ago.I went the big inch route as well in my latest Road King 2006 it has an R&R Twincam 2540cc.The wife loves it as well. Before that built a 2002 Road King with an S&S 2050cc Evo almost the perfect bagger motor. Not everyone needs a big inch cruiser but being a drag racer all my life it was a natural.Just saying and not trying to start anything, enjoy your new FLH they are beautiful machines no matter how they are dressed. We went from a Softail to a FLHT back in `09;best move of my life. The touring bikes are the shit, even if you just bar hop with them.

Do your homework when buying your add on goodies;there are quite a few places that give awesome deals.

Here`s a couple I use:

mandmcycles.com for aftermarket stuff.

lshd1.com for orginal parts.

Good luck,and ride safe.

I already have the mod bug. Exhaust, air filter, and programmer to start. Maybe in the future more displacement. Thanks for the links, I will check them out. I could always use to save a few $$

I bought a 2010 Street Glide and did the stage II 103 three months later. The next summer I bought a 2006 Street Bob and did an SE 120R in it winter of 2011. Now I have the perfect pair, a good cruiser with enough power to fly down the road reliably and still get great mileage and a hot rod that is fun to ride.

Dyna and a Street Glide = best of BOTH worlds...

I would but could never figure out the URL where in the world do you find that. This R&R 155" will easily spin over 6k it makes over 140lb ft at 2500rpms over 180 lb ft peak.Modified FLT 5 speed with 32/65 pulleys and 1 1/2" Kevlar belt makes for great cruising.Only difficulty when first started riding it was launching it on stock Metzler rubber controlling wheel spin in 1st and 2nd gear took some getting used to.Had to have custom tuned True Dual exhaust 2" off motor stepped out to 2 1/2" through custom mufflers.

I am riding a FLHR and love it! You made the right move to a Street Glide.

Sounds like a sick bike. I would think a street glide smoking the tire would be something to see.

The aftermarket has the big inch twins covered when it's more cubes you looking for.FLT/FLH Harleys can accept up to a 131" motor with little problem other than clutch.Any bigger you need frame work because of taller cylinders.

I have been riding the wheels off this thing since I got it. My first change is going to be a taller wind screen to help with the buffeting on the highway. Probably going to go with an 8" Klock Werks. Next move will be head pipe, mufflers, air cleaner, and tune. Think I am going to go with the V&H dual head pipe with a set of monster oval mufflers, a SE heavy breather air cleaner, and a SE super tuner. There is so much other stuff I would love to do to this bike but $$$$ dont grow on trees. All in good time but for now I simply love riding it.

Don't be afraid of EBay there are always some very good deals there.A lot of the parts for the last three RK's built came from Ebay including 1 frame.Either way have fun building your new ride it will set you apart.
