I put my number out there for a lot of people who have questions, it helps to talk to them to assess their skill level, so that I can give them the best advice possible. In the future we could do a conference call if that suits you. I'd love to take time out of my schedule to placate you, since I value your opinion SO much.
I don't have a big fancy production shop. It's on our property in the middle of alfalfa fields, it's only me and 2 employees. Nevertheless, we have done 3 cars for SEMA, Warren Johnson's last black Firebird, a '56 BelAir for the coach of the Dallas Cowboys, a '56 Nomad for Sylvester Stallone, the Murderbird (if you know the owner- you'd know he's a picky mother fucker) and everything else including the bumper on your grandma's Taurus. It's not because we advertise or anything like that, it's because we give a shit and our reputation is the only thing that counts at the end of the day. Nothing leaves the shop until I know it will exceed each customers expectations, and, as you know, each customer is different.
To call me a hack when you've never seen anything I've done, is incredibly immature on your part. I run a business that takes care of my family. If you fuck with my business, you fuck with my family and the families of my employees. So please keep your insults off of this section. If you want to throw around insults go to Kill or Be Killed. If Steve Johnson(IS) asked someone to call him about a problem would you motherfuck him? How about Joe O- if he asked someone to call him about a question they had about a power grid, would ask him for sexual favors? This is an informative section- to teach, help and share information. Try to remember that next time you want to talk trash and belittle someone. It won't get you anywhere.

Im Kinda with Jfontaine on this, it's a community message board with a search feature, imagine doing a search for "runs in clear" and the results show the answer "call me"
that's stupid, its nice to have a database of knowledge that helps all who look for it, Like this thread for example, there are tons of good info on how to fix a run except for Krustys answer and he is a mod, seems pointless to me unless once he resolves the problem he posts up the results and answer to the problem for everyone, now this is just my opinion and I hope I'm entitled to it with no disrespect meant towards anyone!

That is why I did my post with a step by step process.

If you want to try it, good, if you think it sucks , fine...

I just know that it has worked for me for over 40 years,

probably longer than most here have been alive.

Working on straight commission, for that long,

(you get paid only for the work you do, no work= no pay!)

ANYTHING that would save me time(= $$$)

and effort I was going to use.

Make sure the clear is good and hard and had plenty of time to cure espically on a run it takes longer for the clear to harden up on a run because there obviously more material there!!!!!!! and if ur not careful with a razor blade u can take a chunk out to the base when its like this i let my clear harden atleast a day or 2 before takin a blade to it

If I get a run in 2 pack clear, I usually get some acrylic spot putty and spread a similar thickness layer either side of the run and the progressively sand it down with 600, 800 and then 1000 grit paper with a hard, flat sanding block. Once the spot putty is losing its colour and becoming transparent, you know to slow down as you are at the surrounding clear coat level. Once the spot putty has just disappeared, I then hit that area with some ScratchX by hand, then buff. This has worked OK for me, but I just paint stuff for fun and touch up aluminium boat paint in my boat yard. I have never done it it, but I like the sound of the razor idea for acrylic clear or top coat, as the spot putty could soften the paint.
