Default Davis t/c on 10.5 cars??

On a radail car you are dead hookin car and contolin slip with davis t/c, in a slick tire 10.5 car when runnin t/c how does the box interpit tire slip or do you run alot of hit in suspension and run on a no slip principle . Just curious thanks for any replies

The davis box detects a driveshaft RPM spike and retards timing on whatever parameters you have it set on. we have found out that it is a great tuning tool... add 5% more power and if the davis box detects spin have it take away the 5% that you added.. I can show you guys lots of datalogs... Its pretty much unlimited with what you can do with it..you can use it in many different ways.. if anyone has any questions feel free to PM me or give me a call 828-776-0001

pay the money, buy the box, talk to shannon.

I luckily talked to shannon and learned more in 40 minutes then i ever could think.
I bet if some one sat down and did the math they could make a car spin for the first 300 feet on purpose and still run the number they needed to run

Bought the box , have not run yet. switchin from radails to 10.5 . Have been watchin video's of 10.5 cars from last year and almost apears most have almost no wheel speed and not hittin bars like cars from just a couple years ago. Was hoping for some real word opinions on setup. Was just wondering if box would get upset with some wheel speed or help contol it first 100 ft.
thanks for input i will talk with shannon when ready to test.

Thats whats nice about the Davis box, You can set whatever perameters you want whether it be dead hook a radial or get some wheel speed with a big slick...

I think I spoke to you on the phone yesterday, didn't I.
The box can control wheel sipn in the first 10 ft, it does need a few feet to establish a rate of change. The units are adjustable to set the Drive Shaft RPM at which they can start making corrections. On the newer units, you can set it every 100 rpm, on the older ones, which I think you have, you can set it every 500 rpm, with 500 being the lowest setting. The older units were slower reacting, and originally designed to save a run, not make the run faster. The new units can make you faster, when used as a tuning tool to get the car to the limit. I know that last statement will stir a lot of shit, but I believe it and have data to back it up.

Feel free to call, if you have any further questions.

Thanks Shannon, you updated my box a month ago to the latest and greatest, was not me yest. Planned on calling before i make some hits, just was starting a thread to get peoples thoughts on how they are running cars with or without wheel speed. You watch alot of cars on proline website Enos as a example , the car leaves like a radail car and you almost don't see any wheel spin. Was looking for real world idea's on how 10.5 cars are leavin with t/c.
Thanks Wally

ps Shannons cust service was top notch!!!!

Most of my 10.5 guys set the start rpm between 500-1500 rpm. I know a few of the really fast guys run it fron 200-300rpm-- not sure what they are doing different-- I'm sure a lot of people would like to know!!

Shanon,
Send me a PM on what the box cost. I've never ran TC but I'm thinking about adding it this year. I think the most benefit would be in the hot part of the year.
Thanks,
