well, being an old guy, i was raised on the old h&h spinner baits. they were really cheap when i was a kid. in the early morning or really late in the afternoon, for topwater i have always liked a clear tiny torpedo, just working it real slow. ive caught a lot of bass on a beetle spin also.

LOL, I keep an H&H (we call them piggy boats for some reason) tied on one of my poles. A local farm supply store sells them. It is the only place I know of that sells them. I grew up fishing them too. Just the right size, in my opinion.

By far my favorite bass bait is the chatterbait. My biggest bass have come on one of those.

My neighbor caught a 12 lb 5 oz bass last week with a regular old chartreuse H&H "piggy boat" spinner bait.

I'll see if I can get a pic.

I don't think he probably wants his pic in the interwebs, so I blotched it out.

i pour my own jigs, color preference depends on what lake and water clarity, but i usually use a 3/8oz or 1/2oz round head with pumpkin/watermelon skirt and use a NetBait Paca Chuck Jr for a trailer. i love topwater fishing though, hard to beat a Spook on calm, cool mornings....hm....fuck work, i'm goin fishin

oh and Lake Fork Ring Fry rigged weightless...probably my all time favorite for ponds and pits.
