I'll be putting 12's under my Monte, I moved my frame rails in 3" per side, followed by a big notch. Gained 4 5/16" on each side.

I got my 315s to fit on a 10 inch rim without spreading the rear quarters. Just a max notch and minitub, but it did rub the inner lip of the fender when making a tight turn. And the car was low. Not quite as low as yours, I bet, but it was nowhere near stock height. 15x12 definitely wouldn't have worked on my car.

I can believe that on a Cutlass. Your quarters don't flare in like a Malibu does. I know for a fact that a 15 x 12 rim and a 315 tire won't fit a Malibu, even with a max frame notch.

ITS VERY POSSIBLE. MY BUDDY HAS A 15X12 ON A 315 DR ON HIS MALIBU AND STILL HAS PART OF THE STOCK RAIL LEFT. THE TUBE DID HAVE TO BE EXTENDED THO.

I'd have to see it to believe it. A 315 M/T on a 12" rim measures 14" through the section. My car is max notched to where only the inside skin is left. I have barely 14 1/2" from the quarter panel (lip completely gone) to the frame. 315 on a 10" rim is as tight as I would feel comfortable running, but that's with the tire tucked under the car, not the car sitting up and the tire direclty under the wheel lip.

do you have any more info on how you pushed the 1/4 out with a jack? i'd like to do that with mine. i run 29.5x10.5 on weld pro star with 15x10 with 6.5 bs on a stock length 12 bolt. i need to trim the lip on the wheel well,it rubs during hard turns. how much extra room can you get by pushing out the 1/4? i need to do some body work on mine so i dont mind if its dented slightly.

^^Truth!

Unless the car is a 4x4, Ive never seen one sitting with the tire tucked in the wheel well on 12" wheels with the frame in the stock location.

OK, What ever you say. He's got the only Malibu on the planet that can fit a 12" wheel with a 315 (14"+ section width) with stock location inner frame rail.

Have him bring it by my shop and well put his and mine up on stands, take the back wheels off and take measurements.

I'm serious. He knows how to get here since it's my frame that's under his car (at least the back section prior to the wreck).
