Default Will It Like More Compression?

308 sbf. Old school build from the mid-90's.
10.5:1 compression
WP Windsor Sr. aluminum heads with a little bowl blending and port matching.
1.6 rockers
3200 ish # 68' Mustang. Future convertor TBD.
Shift ~7200.

The cam is an Erson solid roller:
.370" @ cam int. and exh.
238* @ .050" int.
246* @ .050 exh.
.592" int. & exh. @ valve
278* int.
286* exh.
108*+4 LC
All of this is taken from the hand written cam card from Erson circa 1995. I can provide intake and exhaust events if needed.

This motor was built with street/strip, pump gas duty in mind. I'm not interested in driving this on the street anymore. Will this cam be happy if I bump the CR up two or three points? Or am I would I be wasting money here?
Opinions?

They are always happy with more comp. If you can keep up with the tune

The engine will love the added compression, but your wallet won't love the added cost of the racing fuel.

Can you elaborate? What comes into play when raising the CR? Are you referring to the timing curve or a wrinkle that tuning with domed pistons can add?

I'm going to be using a new Holley 750 HP. Well, sorta new. I bought it 15 years ago for this motor and it's never had fuel in it. It'll be on a Torker II from the same era.

I certainly hope so! I'm looking forward to getting this together. I've been away for too long.

No argument there. It won't like the cost of getting everything rebalanced either.

One of my favorite things about being in the pits is watching and listening to the high compression big tire cars cackle on by and catching the aroma of VP burning. I figure since I have other fun cars for the street, why not fufill my long time ambition of being in that club. I want this car to be a runner.

The more comp a car has the less forgiving the tune, if you start pushing things.

Well, I don't want to lean on this particular combo too hard. It's still a stock bottom end. It still has the stock 68' cast crank thats never been turned, just polished, and stock 68' rods, in the stock .040 over 68' block. It does have ARP fasteners throughout however. My builder said it would be just fine up to 7400. I was skeptical but who am I to second guess.

I'd rather not scatter this stuff since it the original harware for my car. It's conceivable that I may want put this J-code motor back to stock some day. Hell, I've been offered $300 for the stock 4v intake alone. I've seen the heads go for $500. This was the only year the Mustang got a 302 4V that wasn't a Boss or some other special deal and production was somewhat limited.

Gahh, sorry for the rambling.
