Default Coilover brackets and squarewave 175

Tacked coilover brackets on housing with Hobart 140 mig, can I safely tig them with my Lincoln Squarewave 175 even tho not enough amps if follow the .001/amp rule....can I do it safely, suggestions for the diy'er??

That 175 Lincoln can easily weld the brackets to a housing. You should have plenty of amps available.

Thanks McCoy, should i do alternating side stitches to minimize distortion, as housing ends are alrdy in place, thx.

Are they simple little brackets/tabs, or do the go half way around the axle tube or something? The 175 is plenty of machine for a bracket as McCoy mentioned. If it is a small tab, I wouldnt worry too much about overheating or distortion. Should be fine...

If your worried about warpage wrap a moist towel or rag

around the tubing on both sides of your weld.

Cheap and easy heat sink!!

I do this all the time.

That 175 will work well!!
