Default 1st gear band in powerglide

how often do you guys usually adjust it?

if you have to adjust it more than once?? i see problems in your future. i adjust it,on the bench... then after we make a few passes. readjust it. after that.. we run them till they give up. if it needs adjustment often?? its slipping and wearing out the drum and band!! hope this helps

For what it takes , check it every time you get back from racing along with your regular maintenance. If it keeps changing (getting loose) , the trans is taking a dump and you can get the band replaced or make neccessary changes before its to late.

Loose usually makes it backup when you get on the brake.
