Last time we talked i thought you were going with this color. I like this better then the burple. Plus if you do the orangerine or whatever that one is you can just change the interior black.

My car is HOK Burple over silver (BC02 I believe). I think that is the look you are talking about--depending on the lighting and angle, it can take a blue or purple look on. I'm no paint expert but IMO the HOK paint always seems to be catchier and have more vibrance in the color than a lot of the other brands.

I paint my own cars and let me tell you it's all about the clear you select. Unless you can paint yourself stay away from transparent base colors(tri stage) and candy's unless you have a fat wallet. Both types darken the more coats you apply. So if you wreck or scratch and try to touch up your going to have problems especially if another painter gets involved using a different gun, air pressure, and doesn't know how many coats was applied. I prefer PPG 2021 or 2002 clear coat over any other clear. You can buy cheap shopline base color and use this good clear for best look. The slickest paint job will envolve you sanding down the clear coat when cars painted and reclear again with 3 more coats and colorsand/buff......This is alot of work but well worth the results. You can buy the burple in base and use the 2021 over it i don't care what HOK says .

You can tint any of the candy coats to your liking, thhe darker the base you use the darker the outcome and the more layers you spray of candy the darker and more uniform the color will be,if you use a shimmrin base coat for a main color to use with no candy on it it will be too metalic looking because those base coats are made corse so you can see the metalics threw the candy coats I do alot of candy paint work and my 53 promod vette is h.o.k. candy tangerine with some gold candy mixed in and been racing it for 5 yrs. and still in good shape and shine and the car is all fiberglass. You can check it out on my web site and their is a camaro on it with a nice purple candy base coat paint job. www.promodkustomz.com

...if your gonna paint the car one solid color"burple"may not be your best choice...my friend had a all burple 87 gt looked like crap....had to paint the car white just to get someone to look at it when he went to sell it......maybe a trip to a bodyshop and look at some of their color books will find a nice blue.......lots of nice blues on some of the newer cars
