Good to here from you Matt, not sure how many races I'll make but I'd like to get to a couple.
The Engine is a IA cast iron block, wideport E heads, as cast wenzler gutsram with two 4150 Holley's. 3.75 Stroke x 4.310 bore. And of course being a Pontiac engine I try not to rev it over 6500RPM !!!!!!
Shawn, that is one awsome car. As far as reving over 6500, if you've got good rods, and light pistons, you need not worry about it. especially with a 3.75 stroke. I'm running a 5" stroke, MGP aluminum rods, and JE pistons, and go through the traps at 81-8300. i remember my first 8 second pass in the 8.90s. Then the 840s, and now 8.20s. It's NEVER fast enough.

I'm pretty sure Shawn has a little sarcasm dripping from that comment. 6500 would be closer to his launch RPM.

Thanks.
I ran a Jerico Clutch assisted 4 speed for the first two years after finishing the car, then put a Liberty 5 speed in it this summer.

Yeh I might be bending the truth a little bit on the 6500 RPM part !!!!

cool. I run a G-Force G101 clutch assisted 4 speed in a real olds powered 70 cutlass. those Liberty 5 speeds can handle some serious power, no?

Ha Ha !!! Seems to be the opinion of some. Judging by your sig. you're combination is working pretty awesome, not easy to move 3500 lbs that quick on gasoline only. Any more Details on your combination that you care to reveal ? My Dad's 63 Catalina weighs in at 3550 lbs, E.T. Gains seem come in small increments once you get down around that speed.

Creech : Your car is flyin also, Looking at your pic, I assume you are from Alaska?

Wink Re: 8 second pontiac

515 CID IA block, RPM Heads,Victor intake, on 275's the 8.80 was my frist full pass on this set up. If you want more info on the class Look up Ram Racing's D/R Class . BTW my car was the 2nd 8 sec Pontiac powered run in that class!!!
