Are you using a 9.8 or 10.2 block?
I'm running a 10.2 gm truck block, 4.5" stroke, 4.310 bore (525 cubes) dart 360's ,dart tunnel ram with 2 pro-systems 990cfm alky carbs. 8.97@150 3079lbs.

What weight,trans tire size? What kind of rpm did u turn on motor and spray? Was that a std shelf piston? Who made the cam? That's basicly how I'd like the car to run. I want to trap 150 in the 1/4. Sorry for all the questions thanks for the help and hope

did a 505 with brodix -2s.....made 753hp,then did a 511 with profiler 330 from schmit and it made 880hp and 700tq....

3450lbs. , 29.5x10.5w tire, th400 w/ ati 9" conv. It was a custom piston at the time, but I think they make a self piston for it now. I'm pretty sure the cam was made by Comp Cams. I shifted it a 7,200 and it went through the traps a 7,500 . Hope this helps!

hey ron, i honestly cant pass up the deal i am getting. its a steel crank, rods, and forged piston deal with rectangle heads for well lets just say well under a grand. its a buddy of mines that upgraded to a big motor and its been sitting for like 4-5 years. i'll go thru it and freshin it up for less then 1500 after pistons and i'll have a fun with a motor i dont even have maybe $3500 into. I just gotta get time and go to WI to pick the damn thing up lol

Hey Bill,

I'm up for a road trip, I'm laid off. Looking for a decent paying job, got any leads. Suggestion on the cam, stay away form a Pussy Hydraulic roller, Solid all the way. For a few dollars more you can get a Good Custom ground cam for your intentions. Your 496 will Thank You for it. If you can get the Bu to hook, it should run well into the mid to high 8"s with big M.P.H.
