800 H.P. @ 8,500 R.P.M. with turbo and Nitrous Oxide (per Engine dyno)

WOW! Weird how it came out to exactly 800@8500.

I can't recall seeing a Chevette, period, in probably 20 years. We used to buy 'em really cheap and make note cars out of them. Lots of them wound up on the strip. Not so much anymore.

Chevrolet brought out this little jewel to replace the Vega. Should have kept the Vega, which back in the day actually looked pretty good in GT and Cosworth trim.

Bet it handles and brakes well. We'll probably see it on Racing Junk soon. "Hooks hard, goes straight."

All the bad mother fucker race cars have air conditioning.

That's a GM crate/mercruiser motor, I seem to recall seeing it in the GMPP catalog a while back, but it's also a natural gas engine for forklifts and shit.

You may be right. And if it is, it's pretty stout, able to take some boost with no problem. But 36 pounds with spray? Not without some serious internals.

And what I see under the hood doesn't look like it'd hold up to the stock 100HP that it came with, let alone something with 500/800. Upon further review, that car is a rolling chunk of shit.

Damnit, Ive been looking for an older Vette. I want to do up one like The Bad Seed, only with a BBC. Ya gotta love the excitement a super short wheelbase and no weight can give!

They have 48hp with the stock 1.6, less with the 1.4, and even less with the diesel. Ours dyno'd 24hp at the wheels, and it runs a 25 second quarter mile.
