Default power fuel additives

mixing 30% propylene oxide with 114 octane fuel and or using nitro methane as a power addditive how much power increase can expect to see and what are the risks of each

are ya talking like super-max additive?..i love the stuff..gotta go fatter if ya add enough of the good stuff..i have zero experience with propylene, but i know it works killer..

NHRA banned propylene oxide years ago due to it's toxicity not only to the crew using it but anyone in the vicinity. Don't do it.

nitro propane or nitro methane need 1% more jet per 1% nitro
mixing in gas makes big and little clumps of hydro molecules of nitro
causing detonation .it needs a solvent like methanol to stay suspended . a gasoline mix need to have 1% ethanol and .5% acetone mixed with it to stay even mix .and not cause hot spot in combustion chamber . you will need to reduce timing like nos .
most combinations will net 5% h/p for 10% nitro propane mixed and timed this way and be safe .you can lean on it and time it closer for more but its a very fine line to happy and boom.
i have doused up to 15% in methanol mfi set ups and 10% in carbs . . the more streetable the combo the better they respond to it

If you take the time to read the MSDS on Propylene oxide you will not touch the stuff.
Nitromethane mixes really well with methanol but not so much with gas.
If you want oxygenated fuel just run VP Q-16 and don't screw around mixing stuff.

Or even better , run Renegade K-16 . The most effective way to use nitro is with methanol , or large doses of nitro with a small percentage of one of several chemicals. It's been done with gasoline , but doesn't work as well .
Before using any power adders , check their chemical makeup and very carefully read the MSDS sheets . A lot of " power adders " can do very serious and very permanent damage to racers and spectators by breathing in the fumes as well as contact with the skin .

I have used max race nitro additives and it definitely works. They claim 4% power gain for every 1% nitro. I ran up to 4% in my gaze1100 20 years ago and it picked up .2 in the 1/8. I used it in WERA road racing too, did I just say that. It has a good odor when burned too.
