be very careful.....if you try this on your own or with a track...

once a month is better for lots of guys I know.
here are some of the issuses I saw helping an outlaw class travel around ...

the problem with traveling is....
1. the purse needs to be guarranteed.....
for at least...
1,000. to win
400. runner up
200. to each racer in the semi's
1600. total payout

100. entry fee is the normal fee
so if 8 cars show up you will need some money from the track to help pay for the purse on one class ...
times 3 if you plan to run 3 classes

several tracks north of the river up there would not pay
after they said they would
so get it in writing ..
and if you are working with a track ..
make sure you got somebody at the gate collecting the money and counting fans too....
to protect yourself ..

if the track will not agree to it your going out on a limb
by yourself
you should get at least 2.00 to 4.00 per fan ..

several tracks ...
lost their memory about count and would not pay at the end of the night
2. to help cover the costs of traveling make the semi money
at least 200. because it costs racers 200. to get there and
if it is not guarranteed ....
then even if you win ....you lose money as a racer .

it takes years to build a heads up program to
where there are lots of fans , racers and money for the track owners and promoter.
when osca was in business 80 % of the racers were from north
of louisville ..
so good luck

P.S.
and be careful who you deal with...
when the cash hits the table at the end of the night
and has to be paid out ....
you will see people act a lot differently ...

THER HAVE BEEN SEVERAL TRACKS THIS YEAR CANCEAL RACES
AND OR NOT PAY TOO....

If you could get True Street rules like they use to be back in the day, that would be awesome. The classes have gotten way out of hand. When cars start having forward facing scoops and big inch cars weighing in the lower 3000lbs, kind of took the fun out of it..Us poor boys cant keep up!

Shiieeettttt.... My engine only has a 454 crackshaft in it (4.0in stroke). There are LSX smallblock engines close to the same cubes as mine. Plus my car is a fat ass with all steel and glass. You wish is was big engine....There is 600-800cui in true street now.

Point is, True Street has died out over the years since the rules have continued to become more forgiving. Like allowing 4 links, scoops, and big inch engines.

I believe the fastest car in the class right now doesn't have a big inch motor and doesn't have a forward facing hood scoop.

Is it a turbo car or a nitrous smallblock car? I believe there is a Mustang in the 4.90's, but running around 427cui with fogger and weight around 3000lb. Some of the Ohio cars are in the 4.90's with the turbo LSX cars. Deffinetly some fast cars in the class. I see some 4.80's comeing soon if they have not already hit that mark.

You've been in the 4.90's also and N/A. How much does your car have to weigh all motor with your engine combo? Seen you was at Clay City a few weekends ago. I think you could have won that race if nothing would of happen. What let go, trans or something in the rear?

No way I could make "a couple races a month" but I'll make at a least a few for the year, if there is a class ol' gus fits in.

I would definitely be interested in running, depending on the classes and rules.

you talking 1/4 mile or 1/8 mile?
if its 1/4 mile i am out, may not even have a car finished by then anyway.

it might make a differance to others as well.
