I. General NHRA Rules: This is an NHRA race and all vehicles will adhere to the NHRA rulebook and its latest addendums.

II. Friday Night Rage Rules: All competitors must follow these General Rules and race Procedures in addition to the rules for their particular class.

III. Call to Lanes: There will bethree calls to the lanes. If a car is not ready to compete, with diver belted in, when class is called to the starting line, the opponent will be granted a competition single.

IV. Qualifying: Every attempt will be made to initially qualify cars in the lane you wish. Due to time restraints if single lines form, cars will be dispersed every other car to an open lane. Run lane will be marked on stage ticket. It is mandatory to alternate lanes after initial qualifying pass. Lane choice goes to higher qualifier first round. After the first round lane choice goes to the lower E.T. from the prior round.

V. Bye Run: All vehicles must take the tree and attempt a pass under full power down the track to be considered a win.

VI. Waste Oil: Collection centers are provided throughout the pits. Waste oil must be dumped in these bins. Contaminated oil must be taken with you when you leave. CONTAMINATION MEANSANYTHING BUT PURE USED ENGINE OIL (brake clean, Carb Clean, Anti-Freeze). Safety-Kleen provides collection as a courtesy. Please respect the service.

VIII. Contingency: It is the competitor’s responsibility to fill out a contingency form and have it verified at the scales. Competitor then turns contingency form in at pay out suite.

IX. Pay Out: Payout suite is located second floor of tower, second door on left.

X. Oil Containment: All vehicles will be required to utilize an NHRA-accepted lower engine oil-retention device. The lower engine containment device must cover the sides of the block and pan up to one inch of the head-mating surface and extend within 1 1/2 inches of the front and rear of the cylinder case area. A belly pan may be used in lieu of a device attached to the engine. The belly pan must extend from frame rail to frame rail and extend forward of the harmonic balancer and to the rear of the engine block and must incorporate a minimum 2-inch-high lip on all sides. A nonflammable, oil-absorbent liner mandatory inside of retention device. Any device that fails to perform as required must be replaced or repaired to the satisfaction of the technical staff prior to any further runs.
XI. Driver: Must hold a current, valid NHRA Competition License appropriate to type of car or motorcycle, ET and speed.
XII. Disputes: All Event Directors’ decisions are final. Event Directors include the Race Director, Tech Director and the Official Starter.

I am changing a few things this winter. It should able to run some 4.90's I hope !!! If your car isnt done...come out, I am always looking for some good help ! I have some friends who help, but sometimes they are busy. You know how it is.

You have to get your car IN THE TRAILER before you can take it OFF THE TRAILER ! lol

You guys better take a look at what happened this weekend, we're gonna have to shoot for .70s now! I had a great time this year and hope to be able to make it back next year!

The True Street rules allow more combos then X275 Ray but you no me I have a carb so I dont know what in the hell your talking about when you say mm's! lol

yes, except the sb/nos is several hundred lbs heavier. 2650 for SGMO race, andthink its 2900 Indy rage

#482 · (Edited)
I guess you didn't notice the big block weigh is also heavier than the 28x10.5 vs 275 rules. Think they started with x275 rules but then modified them a bit to try to make OV true street cars legal to try and draw some of them.

Two things are for sure (because they always happen)1: the rules will be changed and 2: no matter what happens, Sam will say his weight is too heavy.

I just want to thank all those that supported RAGE and made this series become a growing success. We had a great year and as the word got around that we don’t screw with crappy track prep and we treat racers as we want to be treated….car counts grew. This is a show that fans enjoy, they are beginning to know the repeat drivers and truly root for them, as well the rivalries are becoming known to the local fan.
The format will generally be the same to last year’s Friday show. Index qualifying will happen late Saturday afternoon and the race will begin in the evening. This will allow the growing index classes to start earlier and create a no gap, action packed show for the fans. Additionally we are looking at adding OC and NSS. Saturday’s will allow for teams to travel more with less time off work. Again last year we had to prove that the format was viable. There are many forms of competition for the fans disposable income dollar on Saturday in the Indianapolis market. We felt more secure about starting the program on Friday night to introduce the format to the general fan. This left many regional racers out of the picture due to work schedules etc. We are more secure now that the RAGE format has a bit of a following to compete for the general fans Saturday entertainment dollar. You supported the series, we delivered the Saturday change.

Other Changes / Possible Changes
Dragsters will go to big tires (possibly a weight brake for small tire… and possibly an N2O only shoot out).
Maybe a bit of a change in TS to more X-275 oriented (opinions?).
Looking at aligning L/S with other successful organizations rules.
Possible OC and NSS Class.

Predictions
Pooch and Josh’s car will make it through a race (running).
Kevin will kick ass with whatever combo he chooses.
Someone will feel their class is too heavy (insert name here #####).
The announcers will instigate rivalries for the fans

For Sure
Saturday’s
CHEAP BEER
BIKINIS (or some variety of scantily clad visual entertainment)
Drift cars and their BABES (and the 600+ spectators they draw (some who have never seen heads up drag racing))
THE BADDEST AZZ TRACK SURFACE PERIOD!!!! IDFAWTP (Ya figure that out!!)
Some of the best head up racing in the country.

So we will get more info out quickly, stop by our booth at IMIS (Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis) and I’ll be down at PRI if you want to chat.
Again THANK YOU Racers, Crews, Sponsors, Manufacturers and the FANS that support the RAGE series and many other great, heads up programs around the country.

I wonder if the "True Street" name changed to something with "275" in it, would it draw in more 275 cars ???? Just a thought. The other thing I think would be good is what you touched on was to make the weights similar to other organizations so cars can cross over.

Other than that, I love the Rage ! Really love the track prep!!!! its a huge change from a few years ago !
