    Hi Uncle Paul

I live in Southeastern Missouri and run in a 1/8th mile heads up 4.89 index class called the Dixie Doorslammers. We just installed an all aluminum 555 BBC in our beretta drag car. It weighs 2140 lbs going down track. The motor is pretty mild and making about 950 hp. We have been running 4.94s consistently. We have a race coming up and are thinking about mixing some M5 with our regular methanol 50/50 to try and get to 4.89-4.91. I was looking for your expert opinion on whether this 50/50 will help? if we need to change jet or timing? and if there are any major risk on running M5 in our combination? do we need to take any special car starting or warming up car on 50/50 mix?

This car has a BLP dominator that flow 1250 cfm.

any information would be greatly appreciated. I have read almost every post that you have discussed M5 about and I know that you know your stuff about this topic. Thanks

Hi Paul, i ordered the 7720 to go with the power grid like you suggested. The taco im running is a stewart warner 5" maximum with the shift light incorperated and memory. When i wire power grid
to taco do i just wire grey to taco. Can i use the shift light on this taco or do i need a separate shift light. thanks sean

Hi Uncle paul, I have a power grid which im yet to wire up. i'm connecting the grid to a digital 7 plus (7520) base model (non programmable) and a little unsure of the wiring.
In the Instal Instructions with the grid under wiring features it says: 4 pin connector - Black - ground, Orange- Batt Power, Yel/white- Trig out,
Red- power out - on/off switching.. then it says red wire (NOT USED WHEN CONNECTING TO OTHER MSD IGNITIONS) …so do i use this red wire and the white on the Dig 7 (7520)

    Much Appreciated

hello paul. my friend vince (this is his yellowbullet account) and i were at nitrojam in rockingham this past saturday. not sure if i met you, but i did talk to one of the crew guys for jim bersani's 57 twin turbo for a while. do you still crew for that car? i'm trying to find out when it'll be back racing in the southeast. one of the crew guys i talked to offered to let me be their back up girl the next day (even though he explained they don't really need anyone to back it up because they use a radio). i told him i couldn't come back that next day, but if i can make it to any of their races this season i'm going to take him up on that offer!

If your looking for that extra hp then I think the extra cost is justified. It took me a drum to get it dialed in but It was worth almost 2 tenths in the 1/4. It is an interesting fuel. I needed to adjust my barrel valve setting, I richened the car almost 10% and pulled 2 degrees of timing out, this is when I saw my best numbers. I also ran it with a 50hp shot of nitrous using c12 as an enrichment fuel. So if you want that extra tenth and are willing to tune a bit , yes its worth it.
