There are plenty of sites and being a Canon user the site that Kelly gave in the very first post of this -->(http://www.yellowbullet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=97698) will be great.

That being said, I have learned that no matter how much you read the only way to actually learn this stuff is to get out there and do it and I've been learning for about 18 months now, so I definitely know where you are coming from. Carry your camera at all times and be ready to take a photo at a moments notice. I don't care if I am riding a mile down the road to get milk, my camera is in my truck, you just never know what you might see. Good luck.

This should keep you busy for a little while. Read your manual and get to know your cameras capabilities :)
