A buddy of mine give me a grind number of a hyd roller cam and we cant find this number anywhere .trying to find out if he needs a bronze gear or a steel gear on the distributor .He seems too think its a LT1 cam ,the grind number is CPC BC.17...155 any help on this matter would be appreciated.

Sorry, those numbers don't really ring a bell with me.
If it is smooth between the lobes, more than likely it is steel. That would take a steel gear or bronze.
If it has casting flash between the lobes, then its a SADI (ductile iron) core. That will take a cast gear.
