Just checking to see what filters do you normally put in your bag when you do a shoot? I do use a UV filter on every lens I have to protect them from tire dust and dirt around the track. Also...I have been using a circle polarizing filter on allot of the car photo's that I have recently done. Just checking to see what everyone has in there bag of goodies. Jay.

Jay I've used both Skylight and UV and I can't tell shit between the two! I pretty much buy filters to protect my lenses from Scratches more than anything.
Since digital the only filters I use are polarizing filters. Really helpful for cars.
Here is a nice example of a polarizer in use for cars.

I don't use them. Polarizer only for landscapes. Polarizers can do funky things to the windshield glass on cars, thats why I avoid them.

I used a Polarizer for one race and noticed the funky colors, especially cars with lexan it almost turns purple.

Just UV filters.
x2 Mainly for lens protection a well.
I use a circular polarizer at times, Mainly when doing landscape stuff.
Been wanting to get a starburst filter too, They add a neat effect for some shots.

I have a CPL but haven't played with it much. The few shots I have taken with it it seems to really bring out some colors; like bluing the sky more. Also if you are doing waterfront shots it eliminates a lot of glare.
